In this generation, there are many people hell bent on tearing down every institution built by our ancestors regarding their ways are archaic therefore ineffective. Let us critically look at the ways our ancestors lived in respect to the times they lived in, "Survival of the fittest" is a phrase that originated from Darwinian evolutionary theory as a way of describing the mechanism of natural selection, Simply the strongest will survive and the weakest will die, we often use that phrase now but the fact is that in recent years, we've built a society where the weakest amongst us don't just get to live but they're even role models to the younger generations directly or indirectly encouraging them to aim low, any show of strength is tagged as toxic behaviour and shunned, the emasculation of men and the simultaneous exaltation of weakness is a topic for another time. A quick google search on the predators of early humans and you'll quicky realise the past wasn't a pleasant place for our ancestors but we are alive now which obviously means they somehow stayed alive which shows they did something that worked, because back then, one wrong move will most likely result in you being dinner for cave bear and many of our ancestors actually died. Now with scientific methods we can test out scenarios without always having to sacrifice another's life but then ancestor A and his family did something and got eaten by hynenas and the rest of the troop are like maybe we shouldn't do that going forward, your fellow human was the lab rat and your eyes had to be open all the time, and that is just on the predation front, infectious diseases, food shortages, accidents were also concerns. but they somehow survived, on an altar drenched with blood of families and friends they survived, through long, dreadful nights and equally scary days they survived. Are there things that needs to be changed or modified? oh yes for sure(the abolishing of slavery is great idea), let that be the discussion, not total destruction of something that serves a purpose, let's not assume that our ancestors were unwise because they've survived times that majority of us could never survive and their bones and blood lie at the foundation of civilization. So kid maybe listen when your Father speaks and Father give your kid some room because maybe he can generate some better version of what we already have.
