When Buhari was campaigning for his tenure, i made a comment here about how he would make life harder for us, it wasn’t a prophecy neither was i wishing bad on Nigeria/Nigerians. Regardless of the fact that PDP had there own short comings, the truth is that no normal human will compare Apc to PDP. PDP was 1000% better than the present APC.Not even a mad human will argue that.

How is PDP better?

For 14 years, they could not provide stable electricity; they nurtured Boko Haram, made promises to bandits which they couldn't fulfil, made promises to ASUU which they couldn't fulfil, could not diversify the economy, could not reduce corruption, abused the naira with dollarization during reelections...

APC inherited all the problems that came from the total failure of PDP.

What did PDP hand over to APC?

You think they handed over a prosperous economy simply because things were cheaper then?

Many of you don't understand inflation. That is why you are using inflation to compare.

What you should look at to make an unbiased comment is the type economy and political space that APC inherited from that failure of a party called PDP.

Below was the economy and political space APC inherited from the failed PDP:

1. A political space that could not provide stable electricity for 14 years.

2. A political space that depended heavily on oil for 14 years.

3. A political space that was spending more on NASS than education and health.

4. A political space where all the public universities had lost quality. Before PDP, there was a time when OAU was the 2nd best university in Africa. Obasanjo and Atiku floated their own universities and that began the end of quality for our public universities. What is the continental rank of our best university today?

5. An economy that was borrowing to pay salaries.

6. A political space struggling to take territories from Boko Haram.

7. A political space that had destroyed its middle class, creating a few billionaires and impoverishing millions of others. Yet OBJ had the mouth to say he made some people billionaires.

APC inherited an economy that could never survive the oil slump that hit hard almost immediately, and yet in 2019, we recorded our highest inflation decline in the history of the country.

Currently, our inflation rate has increased by 1000%

While every country is currently battling inflation, we are one of the worst hit due to the failure of PDP to diversify the economy away from oil and eliminate trade deficit. They had 14 years to achieve this, but failed. And yet, they are opening mouth to abuse APC who inherited their failure.

Anyone who wins next year will continue to struggle because of PDP's 14 years of wastage.

What should PDP have done?

We had just ended military rule. PDP had two things to do to refocus the country:

1. Fix the electricity problem. Even when they privatized the sector, they did so in their normal lame way, creating an even worse situation. We have not forgotten the billions OBJ took to provide stable electricity which never happened. No one has probed PDP yet.

2. Remove trade deficit: A very important thing holding us back is trade deficit. We import far more than we export. A country with trade deficit will have its currency get weakened. If it does nothing about the deficit, there will be job losses, high taxation (or in the case of Nigeria, more borrowings to meet its financial obligations).


If there is anyone to blame for the problem we are facing today, it is PDP.

They destroyed our economy and have created problems for generations to come.
