ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
THEY DON’T KNOW HIM. John 1:10-11
He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. [11]He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. NLT.

Humans have the gift of perception through their senses. The gift helps them understand things and see things. However, this gift fails when it comes to dealing with God. Gen 28:10-16, Jacob had slept and dreamt about a stairway that reached from the earth up to heaven. Afterwards, God spoke to him and when he woke up, he said; “surely the Lord was in this place, and I wasn’t even aware of it”. The problem Jacob had was that he relied on his physical senses in that place and he could not see through the lens of the Spirit. His senses failed him until God opened his eyes to see.
The physical sense can never walk with God. 1 Corinthians 1:18-21: The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. [19]As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” [20]So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. [21]Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. NLT. It takes a fool to the view of the world to know God. This was one of the reasons why Jesus was not accepted by his people which eventually led to his death. (Although his death was the original plan of God to give us eternal life).

1 Corinthians 1:22: It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. NLT. The Jews, his people asked for a sign before they could believe. They wanted to see something incredible before believing because as a nation they were used to seeing miraculous signs. Matthew 16:1-4: One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority. [2]He replied, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow; [3]red sky in the morning means foul weather all day.’ You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the signs of the times! [4]Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah.” Then Jesus left them and went away. NLT. On the other hand, the Gentiles go after human wisdom, making the death and resurrection of Jesus nonsense to them. 1cor 1:23.

These set of people rely on what they can see and what they know from the wisdom available to the world to understand the things of God. Therefore, they can’t understand him and accept him as Lord. To truly know God, you need to rely on the wisdom of God to have eternal life. 1 Corinthians 1:26-28: Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. [27]Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. [28]God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. NLT.

If not, you will be like the people in time past who rejected him and crucified him. If you are ready to give your life to him and accept him, say this prayer with me; Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and saviour today, please save me and be my lord and I will be your witness till the end.
