For my order, Starlink included 14 days free Internet that started counting from the day equipment was shipped. I got equipment 3 days after shipment so that translated to 11 free days.

14 days shouldn't it be 30 days or 30-3 which is 27days
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Ayomipoe(m): 10:46am On Nov 17, 2023
There is no free 30 days o.

The moment you connect the Starlink online for the first time or 30 days after the shipment, whichever comes first, you will be asked to pay 38k.
You can choose to use it for the 30 days duration without paying. However, should you choose to continue using Starlink, you will have to pay for that month.

Same with the router adapter... I ordered. Seems they ran out of stock because my supposed adapter is shipped From US unlike the dish which came from Lagos.

Meh, same here. I complained to support, you can check the earlier posts.
Like someone said, the moment you get your tracking you should update your address by calling DHL

Why so?
Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Ayomipoe(m): 6:03pm On Nov 17, 2023
Starlink does not usually add the full address information on the shipping label sent to DHL.
I learnt this first-hand when they were sending the replacement router.
I forgot to update the address with DHL and on the day they were supposed to deliver, they called me to ask where is my address is located. I waited till the next week to receive my package as they don't work on weekends.

You should read the previous posts for more information, there is one guy on this thread that has always been preaching it.

This happens when the shipment originates from Starlink Nigeria, not when shipped from the US.

Check the status of your shipment with your tracking number. If the origin is the US, no need to worry. If from Lagos, then update the tracking info with your phone number and email.

Mine was shipped here in Lagos and I didn’t call Dhl to update any information at all. Delivery took just 4 days. The only 2 calls I received from Dhl was from the delivery man to tell me he was on his way and when he was outside my gate.

I think the goal is to make long term customers.
They eventually will increase their subscription cost and I will still pay it.

7mbps? That's a terrible network speed.

You can't even Netflix with that speed, how many devices can you even connect with that speed?

God forbid I use this type of network connection..

Do you get the 5Ghz WiFi at all times and what is the name of the TP-Link you use?

Of course, the 5ghz is constant 24/7 365 days.
This is because the router uses a high channel that all devices can read, while starlink router uses a low channel that only few devices can see. Your starlink 5ghz is also always on but just that some of your devices can't read it. My Android box and Samsung tablet reads the starlink 5ghz always.

But with tp-link, in my case Archer C80, every device have access to 5ghz always

In as much as it looks slow, the recommended speed for Netflix smooth streaming at HD is 5mbps

As long as you have the starlink ethernet cable, you are more than good to go and will get a better speed than your starlink router. No need to bypass sef. Hope you get 200-250mbps if you in Lagos.

Chai, people get money for this country oh. cry cry
