SOUTHWEST YOUTH SUMMIT TO HOLD JANUARY 27, 2023
…Summit to Convene Regional Leaders, Youths for Socio-economic discourse.


There is an urgent need for the emancipation of ideas, driven by the teeming youths of the Southwest region of Nigeria
for Socio-economic prosperity. Now is the time to create an enabling environment by critical stakeholders of our time,
charting a way forward for the younger generations. Hence the emergence of the Southwest Youth Summit (SWYS).
This event will serve as a turning point for young people to accomplish the following: Promoting peace in the
Southwest region of Nigeria, equip youths with knowledge to build a sustainable society, mentoring young
minds to achieving greatness, among others.
Themed; “Beyond This Moment: Inspiring & Empowering Youth Today for Tomorrow's Challenges”, the Summit will host
over three thousand youths and leaders from the political, public and private sector space. Our traditional rulers in the
region will not be left out.


Prior to this time, we have embarked on series of strategic engagements to ensure we have a successful outing, come
January 27th, 2023. We have consulted the paramount ruler of the Yoruba kingdom, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial
Majesty Oba Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), who have graciously endorsed the Summit and promised to mobilise other
Southwest leaders to the epoch-making event.
We have also sought the counsel of Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Sen. Moshood Olalekan
Balogun who have also given the nod for the event. Also, the DAWN Commission, a coordinating platform for Southwest
development agenda, headed by Director-General Oluseye Oyeleye has declared its support for the event.
In the coming weeks, we shall continue our strategic consultation of other prominent Yoruba leaders including
Governors, and youth-based organisations/movement just to ensure everyone is covered in the discourse of regional
development.

Venue: Ibadan Civic Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.


We are engaging the Media (mainstream & online) to assist us in circulating this vital information to the general public
and to also communicate in clear terms, that this Summit is in no way political and is neither endorsing any political
candidate for an elective position come 2023. Our agenda mainly is to hold developmental conversations for the good
of our youths in the region.
