It is often referred to as organic. Much more so if you play by the rules, you will always get traffic from this single effort even when you sleep.

Paid to advertise : Paid advertising, such as Google AdWords or social media ads, can help you reach a targeted audience and drive traffic to your site.

Use this when you want quick results. If I create new ebooks, I use any of these forms of paid ads (especially Facebook and LinkedIn ad) to drive traffic to the landing page, this gives quick ROI, and after some time, the page and product gain some organic traction on their own.

But remember that the traffic stops the moment you stop funding the ad.
