Hi everyone, please my Acer chromebook 315 doesn't display full colour images. There are two of them and they both have the same display issue. They are brand new so I'm guessing it's from their setting but I'm not sure.

I'll appreciate any input on what the problem might be and how to fix it.

The image attached is how it displays

Most cheap chromebooks have poor colours because manufacturers use poor display panels to keep the cost down. I have used 3 chromebooks: Samsung Chromebook 4, Acer Chromebook 315 and Acer Chromebook Spin 713. The Samsung and Acer 315 displays have washed out colours while the Spin 713, a premium chromebook, had a super display with about 100% sRGB coverage.
See the reviiew of Acer 315 colour gamut from www,rtings.com:

"The Acer Chromebook 315 with a 1080p IPS display has a poor color gamut, so content looks washed out. It doesn't have full sRGB coverage, meaning that most typical colors used on the web aren't properly displayed, and since its coverage of Adobe RGB is also quite bad, it isn't ideal for content creation. It has equally bad coverage of the DCI P3 and Rec. 2020 color spaces, so it can't deliver a good HDR experience. The TN panel likely has an even narrower color gamut, meaning the image will look even more washed out."

Thank you
Oga don't mind the poster above me
I don't think that's the way it is from factory, search for invert colors or contrast settings then return it to default settings.

Having poor image display is one thing, not displaying certain colours at all doesn't make any sense. What am I supposed to do with this? From the reviews it seems it was made for school use... even though

Since you say that’s how it is from the box you can manually change the settings to the normal mode, instead of resetting to default.

Thank you so much. I've fixed it. I disabled high contrast mode.
