*says electorate should dig deep before voting leaders in 2023



The General Overseer of Kings Worship Chapel and Centre International, Sabo Kaduna, Rev Albert Samson who is based in the United States of America, has said that for Nigeria to break free of the twin evil of insecurity and economic hardship bedeviling the nation, citizens must come together irrespective of their tribal or religious affiliations.

The cleric expressed this while speaking to journalists in his church office shortly after giving his Christmas sermon to mark the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25.

He decried the incessant cases of killings in all parts of the country especially the North.


Rev Samson recalled that the North used to be haven of peace, unity and love.

"The North that I used to know is the one which if your money falls on the ground without you knowing, the Hausa man would call you back, and hand over your money .

The North that I know, is the one which you can travel in the night but today, the situation in the North is dire, today there are killings in Zamfara, Katsina, Benue and Kaduna," he lamented.

Rev Samson condemned the killing of thirty persons in Southern Kaduna, a trend which he said, portends danger for the unity of the country.

He said, "It is almost a week that over 30 indigenes of Kajuru were killed, we have not seen or heard the Kaduna State Government say anything about the killings. I expect the governor of the state to swing into action, makeling sure that the perpetrators are arrested.



"The government needs to show that he is running an inclusive government."


On the issue of 2023 general elections, the US based cleric said that Nigerians should query the credentials of candidates who want to be governor or president, before they are voted into power.


"If any one wants to contest for the post of the president or governor, we must look at his past, we must ask what he or she has done and we must make sure that such persons do not have records of failure," he advised.
