Thermodynamics: Lol keep giving excuses for your failure. The field of Software development can never be saturated. Though we have many people going into programming many will just end up with average skill. As a quality Software Engineer who knows his onions you can never go hungry. |

motionarena: You are a very big fool, you don't know how to read, you cannot even understand a simple text. I posted something citing points a YouTuber made in his video and you are here talking rubbish, I'm already a software developer, talking as if you know me. You just rushed here and responded like an illiterate, you cannot even comprehend the simple message this thread is trying to pass, I doubt if you have the logic to understand a simple code. |

No way, programming is tough, not everyone can follow through till they become an expert in it. It's never going to be saturated. 1 Like 2 Shares |

qtguru: The real issue is the fact that companies no longer give people the chance to gain the experience they need, a few years ago, tech jobs do not put too much emphasis in years of experience, but these days, every tech company want someone with at least 3 years of experience, even the start-up that want's to pay #50,000 naira per month are still looking for someone with 3years experience. It's just crazy, do they want people to manufacture the experience out of thin air? |
Re: Software Development Is Now An Oversaturated Field by qtguru(m): 3:00pm On Jan 06, 2023 |
Thermodynamics: Well most junior devs make themselves appear very junior, if a recruiter sees Calculator app he won't employ, if a company sees a Junior Dev building something complex like Shopify Plugin or theme, he would consider. 6 Likes |

It's saturated for entry-level devs. Just check Reddit and you'll see CS graduates with internships applying for 100+ jobs and begging for any kind of help they can get. Not easy at all. There's some seniors that make dedicated Slack/Discord channels for juniors to refer/recommend each other and get jobs, though I have only seen for the US. Anyway, both learning and getting a job doesn't seem to be easy at all. Let's just do our best and hope it favors us in the end. 2 Likes |

nadisms:I don't know o. I was trying too, but the owners always say it's only for US residents at the moment. |

From my experience, I would like to recommend the company zenbit.tech, which specializes in backend development. They have a handy calculator that allows you to get an idea of the approximate cost of developing the server side of your application https://zenbit.tech/services/backend-cost-calculator/ . This tool will help you estimate the budget and plan the development of your project. |

tensazangetsu20:See this Agbadolites!! You are listening to all those YouTubers who are making click bait just to get views. Most of them are not really programmers they are content creator making videos about programming stuff. The truth is that many people will learn and continuing to learn how to code but few among them who is ready to sacrifice will become highly skilled and excellent programmer. |

@Tensazangetsu, come and defend the indefensible. This is 2024, all of you yaff run away Perhaps your all been laid off from your tech roles. Nigerians hate been told the reality! |
Re: Software Development Is Now An Oversaturated Field by Thermodynamics(m): 10:37am On Jan 01 |
YoobaNesan: Lol, these day all these tech companies want to pay a senior developer 400k, some are even ready to pay less, when I get a job invitation now I just use Glassdoor/Indeed to check the average salary, if it's not reasonable I decline the interview. These companies will make you revise old programming languages you've not used for years and pass you through a rigorous steam of interview with stage 1 - 4, asking so many unnecessary questions that is not needed for the job, after everything you'll be hearing something like 150/200k. This tech saturation is not just in Nigeria, it's worldwide. |
Re: Software Development Is Now An Oversaturated Field by tensazangetsu20(m): 12:41pm On Jan 01 |
Thermodynamics: lol I had to disable my LinkedIn because recruiters want to kill me with work. Tech is only saturated in Nigeria. |
Re: Software Development Is Now An Oversaturated Field by Plus10(m): 8:18pm On Jan 01 |
tensazangetsu20:But why is it so saturated in Nigeria and not in other places? |
Re: Software Development Is Now An Oversaturated Field by tensazangetsu20(m): 8:36pm On Jan 01 |
Plus10:The Nigerian economy is struggling and isn’t growing fast enough to support the creation of startups or generate more jobs. Nigerians often face discrimination abroad, and securing a remote job while living in Nigeria has become incredibly difficult. This is one of the reasons why tech seems oversaturated in Nigeria, even though that’s not the case in many other places. Here in Chile, for example, they offer paid apprenticeships where people are taught how to code and earn a salary while learning. It’s a system that not only empowers individuals but also contributes to the growth of the tech industry. The contrast is stark and highlights the challenges many Nigerians face in pursuing opportunities back home. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Over 100 people applied for this tech job in Chille, truth is that software development is an oversaturated field everywhere as it has no barrier to entry, for this reason most tech jobs are who you know that cannot do a good job that get in and companies are happy to get a good contractor in to do their job for them.
