A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ita Enang has rated the performance of his party since coming into power in 2015 better than what the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did when it was in power for 16 years.
Etang, a former presidential aide submitted that Nigerians should reject the PDP and its candidates across board in the 2023 general elections and vote for the APC.

Using his home state as an example, Enang said Akwa Ibom State has benefitted more from the APC than the PDP and the ruling party should be allowed to continue beyond 2023.

He noted that the benefits are despite the fact that the state is a PDP-controlled state.

Naija News reports he stated this on Saturday during the inaugural meeting of the Parliamentarians Directorate of Presidential Campaign Council of APC in Uyo.

In his words, “The APC administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari has done what the PDP could not do for over 15 years of their rulership in the country.


”In Akwa Ibom for instance, President Buhari has built a fertilizer blending plant worth $2 billion dollars, constructed a power plant worth N6.4 billion, released over N150 billion for the reconstruction of Calabar-Itu- Ikot Ekpene highway and the Federal University of Technology.

“The state government has told the people for seven years that it is constructing industries for the state, but I have raw documents from the Cooperate Affairs Commission to show that all those industries constructed are not in the name of Akwa Ibom State or ministry of finance incorporated but are in the names of private individuals.

“For us to continue in the development of the country as we are witnessing today, everybody irrespective of the political party you belong should vote APC in the forthcoming general elections.”

If you combine the projects that Obasanjo and Jonathan did, Buhari's projects don't come close. Besides, leadership goes beyond building infrastructure. You also need to use laws to establish institutions that will drive the economy and the country in general. This is one area Buhari failed completely.

Buhari has just been borrowing money to fix infrastructure with no clear-cut repayment plans. That's why there's palpable concern in many quarters that the Chinese will seize Nigeria's national assets if the country isn't able to repay her loans.

Under APC, only the Northern Muslim gets the best federal government appointments while other tribes and religion get nothing or crumbs.

Buhari simply keeps borrowing money up and down to do a few scattered projects here and there without a single idea of how to use the projects to jumpstart the econony and how to even repay the debts.
