Good morning all and happy new year.

Please what's your take on 2 Samuel 11 with respect to insubordination.

Uriah received a direct order from his boss to go home and rest. But he disobeyed the order because he thinks it's inappropriate.

Joab received a direct order from his boss to get Uriah killed. He didn't question the appropriateness of the order.

Now Uriah is dead and Joab is alive.

Uriah could have saved his life by obeying orders from superiors without questioning.

How do you handle similar situation in an office setting where a boss gives you a direct order to get involved in corruption?

Should we obey man or obey God?

A man with God means God in man.

Are you seriously asking us this question? undecided

1. God tell you say by obeying your boss your obey him, abi wetin? undecided

2. You see and know it for what it is, corruption. What other clue do you need here? undecided

Shouldn't we Obey God rather than man?

what kobo said was explicit as u can see.

also obeying orders from who ordered is of thesame as obedience brings forth a good reward/outcome.

Both of them obeyed the rules accordingly!

Uriah knew it's wrong for a soldier to sleep with his wife when his colleagues are at the warfront, according to the rule of the military they should be together in spirit so when the army is at war all soldiers under that command should be praying and fasting fervently until the war is over. Leviticus 15:16
Joab also was faithful to his commander. He doesn't know what Uriah has done wrong and Uriah was a Hittite tribe once wiped out by the Israelites {Deuteronomy 20:17} perhaps Uriah was a secret agent working for their enemies so such order from a superior in the army must be taken with faith believing it's in the interest of all.

Is that how much you love your life that you plucked out your eyes and abandoned your good sense?
