https://supers.ng As kids, we rely on our parents to teach us the basic skills we need to navigate the world. They teach us how to tie our shoes, how to ride a bike, and how to behave in social situations. But as we grow up, we realize that there are many things our parents didn’t teach us – things that we only learn through experience. Here are a few things our parents didn’t teach us as kids about life: How To Manage Our Finances Most of us aren’t taught how to budget, save, invest, or pay bills until we are out on our own. It’s a hard lesson to learn, and many of us struggle with money management as adults. Sure, our parents may have taught us how to make a few basic meals, but for the most part, we are left to figure out how to feed ourselves as adults. Cooking is an important life skill, and it’s one that many of us wish we had learned at a younger age. How To Deal With Failure In school, we are taught to strive for success, but we aren’t always taught how to cope with failure. As adults, we will inevitably face setbacks and disappointments, and it’s important to learn how to pick ourselves up and move on. How To Maintain Healthy Relationships Our parents may have taught us how to be polite and kind, but they probably didn’t teach us how to communicate effectively or resolve conflicts in our relationships. These are skills that we have to learn on our own as we navigate the ups and downs of adult relationships. How To Take Care Of Ourselves As kids, our parents take care of us – they make sure we are clean, fed, and clothed. But as adults, we are responsible for our own self-care. This means learning how to manage our mental and physical health, and taking the time to do things that nourish our bodies and minds. In conclusion, while our parents do their best to prepare us for adult life, there are many things they just can’t teach us. It’s up to us to learn and grow as we navigate the ups and downs of life on our own. Source: https://supers.ng/things-your-parent-didnt-teach-you-as-a-kid-about-life/
