Benoit Badiashile Chelsea transfer from Monaco has been completed, with the player signing a seven-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Badiashile joined the West London club for €38m, reports transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

“I’m very happy to be here at Chelsea,” Badiashile told Chelsea official club website.

“I’m so excited to start playing for this club. I can’t wait to see the fans and start playing in the best league in the world.”

In a joint statement, chairman Todd Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali added: “We're delighted to welcome Benoit to Chelsea.

“He's an excellent young player who has quickly established a strong reputation for himself and has a huge amount of experience for his young age.

“We are sure he will form an important part of our team in the years ahead.”

The 21-year-old centre-back made his senior debut for Monaco in November 2018 and has played over 150 times for the club.

Badiashile is a 6’4″tall defender who is good in the air and capable of playing short passes out from the back.

He played primarily as a left-sided centre-back and also has experience playing in both the back four and back three for the principality outfit.

Badiashile made his international debut with France back in September last year, playing two times in total and missing out on the World Cup in Qatar.
