The moment you become a Christian you've signed over the right to defend yourself to God. As a Christian you have a commandment to not defend and always justify yourself.

Forgiveness is central to the Christian life. Without mastering the art of forgiveness it will be impossible to turn the other cheek. You have to forgive even when the person that offended you didn't ask for forgiveness.

My charge to Christians today is to be willing to take ridicule, defeat, oppression without fighting back and leave it God to avenge you.

.If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee. Proverbs 25;21-22
