Serie A giants, Napoli bounced back from its first league defeat of the season to beat 10-man Sampdoria 2-0 at Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Sunday evening, thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Eljif Elmas in each half.
Victor Osimhen's opener for Napoli in the 19th minute, after his teammate, Matteo Politano has earlier missed a penalty, was the Nigerian international 10th Serie A goal of the season, seeing him become the first player in the Italian Serie A this season to reach the mark. Football fans and social media users have started reacting after the Nigerian Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen becomes the first player in the Serie A this season to score 10 goals, as some have told him to keep it up, while some have called him the best striker in the Italian Serie A currently.

The result leaves Napoli top of the Serie A table with 44 points, five points above second-placed AC Milan who has 39 points. Victor Osimhen is now officially the Nigerian player with the most goals in the history of the Italian Serie A. Osimhen achieved the legendary status on Saturday when he scored one of the goals in Napoli’s 2-1 win over Atlanta to take his overall tally to 32.

The 25-year-old is now one goal ahead of Sammy Nwankwo who was up until Saturday the top Nigerian scorer. Interestingly, Saturday’s outing started on an awful note for Osimhen as he accidentally gifted Atlanta the opener by conceding a penalty through a fortuitous handball. Osimhen was however equal to the task as he turned the game around with a goal and assist for Elif Elmas.
