About Visions Foundation
For over four years, Creative Visions Development Foundation has pioneered and implemented innovative, sustainable interventions that foster lasting change in the areas of Health Education and Promotion, Democracy and Governance, Leadership Development, Youth Empowerment, Conflict Resolution, Peace Building and community development. The Foundation promotes best practices and state of the-of-the-art approaches, and integrated, holistic intervention programs. The Foundation’s extensive capabilities in community-based and youth oriented development initiatives are enhanced by creative partnerships with other private organizations, NGOs, and public sector organizations.

The Foundation has been involved in specific activities such as using innovative methods such as football, drama, and information technology to promote and create awareness for youth sexual reproductive health and HIV AIDS prevention, peace building, democracy and governance, leadership development programs since 2007. Initial projects trained Youth Leaders, Volunteers, and Peer Educators to educate and sensitize communities on the benefit of dialogue, electoral participation, condom use and knowledge of RH/HIV/AIDS and other preventable diseases. Our holistic approach to HIV/AIDS prevention emphasizes stigma reduction, access to services, support grass-root initiatives and link families to essential resources. We are a leader in empowering youth in vocational skills, life building skills, culture of hard work, integrity in service and molding of change agents in our communities. Building on its earlier successes, the Foundation has been instrumental in expanding the capacity of young people to pioneer community development interventions through strategic advocacy to relevant stakeholders in their communities.

Some of the Foundation’s past and on-going activities include:

• Nigerian for Informed Democracy Project (NID): Through youth Corps Members, student of tertiary institutions, peer educators, youth leaders, the CVDEF’s NID Initiative provide a platform for dialogue, learning and change through which the next-generation can participate actively in shaping national development. The NID initiative has developed effective approaches to strengthen youth participation in national dialogue and nation building, support popular policy and advocating for change.

• Youth for Peace Program: This is a peace building initiative aimed at using sports, role-play, drama, among others to promote dialogue and peace building in the communities. This program empowers youths to be a catalyst for peace, help them to develop the vision, skills, and behaviors that promote peaceful co-existence.

• RH/HIV/AIDS Prevention Programs: The CVDEF has developed a cost effective and youth sensitive school based-intervention HIV prevention programs. Educating young people using behavior change communication strategies and training them as peer educators to win the battle against AIDS. The Foundation is also an active partner in Nigerian National Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS that promotes non-discrimination policies through employer and employee involvement.

• Leadership Development Seminar Series: This seminar series is conducted every quarter to youth leaders drawn from youth groups and associations, students, Corps Members among others, the aim is to create a platform and a social network of transformational leaders.

• Football for Development (F4D): The F4D Project aims to use the universality and popularity of football as a unique entry point to raise awareness on development issues and to promote education for development among young people of both sexes. This project uses football as a medium to promotes development related issues like HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, family planning, peace building, anti-corruption, human trafficking, drug free society among young people.


• Creative Volunteers: This is an arm of the Foundation responsible for coordinating the creativity, resourcefulness and energy of young people for direct participation in community development services. It is aimed at inculcate in tomorrows’ leaders the invaluable virtues of integrity and service. It is a mentoring program that helps young people to appreciate and develop their potentials for community and national development.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Applicants must reside around Karu, Asokoro, Nyanya, Jikoyi, Maraba, and other areas under AMAC Council Area of FCT.
• Holds ND/HND/BSC/MSC degrees
• Have passion and be committed to community development services
• Ready to put up minimum of 3 to 6 months of community service
• Self starter and highly motivated individuals preferable
