These are part of the reasons why I have always admired Gaddafi. Even though he was there for a long time at least life under him appears to have been of a higher standard than anything in Nigeria.

So why is he been chased out like a dog with cutlass, arms and bows?

Libya has only 6 million people, but has more oil than Nigeria. At 150 million, our population is 25 times the size of theirs, therefore, it is logical to conclude that Libya should be at least 25 times better than Nigeria, but it isn't. Just like us, they import everything and the Gaddafi clan lived in obscene opulence.
Libya should really look like Dubai, but comparatively it looks like shiit instead. its not the money alone, there were massive human rights violations going on, eg several hundred Nigerians were executed for simply being in Libya illegally, his own people too, died like flies at his hand (for example when the uprising was just rioting, Gaddafi chose to use bombs and fighter jets on civilians).

. . .Thats why Gaddafi is being chased by his own people the way they would chase a rat or a stray dog; people even shipped in from far of places in Europe to join the fray to get the mudafuka out. It shows you the strength of feeling against his regime.

Ifenadi,

You know why all these things don't mean anything to Libyans? Because, they are the least they could get from their government like citizens of Saudi Arabia and other oil rich countries get from their own governments. These things are normal in the oil rich Arab world.

But my brother, freedom is priceless and worth more than all these things put together. In Gadhafi's Libya, anyone who dare speak against the regime disappears like thin air without trace. How can one man force himself on a nation for 42years?? No matter how good his brain is, he ought to allow others contribute to the governance in Libya rather than concentrate powers in his family.

Who says Libyans won't get more from a new government??

The human and civil rights records in Libya are horrific. He assassinated at will and without mercy (fleeing the country was not a guarantee of safety because he would use his diplomats to assassinate critics living in exile in Europe and in the US). In addition, he was a state sponsor of terrorism for many years.

The successes you cite in defense of Gaddafi's reign of terror were only populist machinations to bribe Libyans. For every dollar he spent on providing these social services, his friends and family stole $100. His immoderate socialist policies crippled a once vibrant economy and centralized economic and social control of the entire country in the hands of his most ardent supporters and friends.

We should all be careful before arguing in support of a psychotic despot.

People were being used to sabotage Libya and those people were Ghaddafi's opposition and enemies. How do we treat enemies of the State?I bet Boko Haram members killed could be cited as case of human right abuse even though such mass killing was not recorded in Libya prior to the uprise.

I am sorry, but your argument makes no sense. Why would opposition leaders assassinate their own leadership to sabotage Gaddafi? That's like arguing that Al-Queda killed Osama Bin Laden to sabotage President Obama. Wouldn't that be cutting the head to spite the face? We Nigerians need to think logically instead of just believing in ridiculous conspiracy theories that don't hold up to a 5-year old's scrutiny.

nigeria has the second largest oil reserves in africa after libya and yet life expectancy is 48 years while libya's is 75

nigeria generates on average $35 to $50 billion from oil revenues per annum and yet most of its infrastructure is in a permanent state of decay, its people live on less than a dollar a day and have to leave the country in order to make ends meet.

incidentally there are thousands of nigerians in libya as we speak who ran away from the grinding misery and poverty of nigeria  to libya where many of them were living and working and had access to libya's free health care facilities, something they could only dream of in nigeria

nigerian politicians like goodluck jonathan have nothing to offer nigeria except mass looting of the state treasury - even before he became nigeria's head of state he along with his wife had already looted over $30million dollars from the bayelsa state treasury and now that they are in office jonathan and his wife have one of the world's biggest entourages with hundreds of freeloading sycophants occupying meaningless govt positions.

gadaffi used libya's oil revenue to provide free education and free health care to its citizens

the nigerian govt has spent the last 25 years cutting spending on education and healthcare and is responsible for lowering the living standards of the average nigerian - the majority of nigerians live in abject poverty while the useless nigerian leaders live in unbeleivable opulence as is evidenced by the numerous palaces belonging to undeserving theiving politicians.

as if  nigerians havent suffered enough jonathan and his world bank stooge are currently getting ready to plunge nigerians into even more poverty and desperation by removing the subsidy on petroleum products.

goodluck jonathan is a paid and trained house negro who dances to the tune of his white supremacist masters while gadaffi is  a pan africanist freedom fighter and revolutionary - no nigerian leader  to date has achieved one zillionth of what gadaffi acheived for his people

human development rank for nigeria - 142  for libya  - 53 - i think the difference is clear

Gadaffi has overstayed and all of us in Africa believes he shoud give the young generations a chance to continue. At the same time,it is grossly not acceptable and morally wrong to support the rebels against him,to plunder and distroy what he has built in years, belive me in no distant time, the Libyans will realise whoose interest NATO is actually protecting.

Whatever made a 26 year old to snatch power by violence, and used violence to retain that power for a whole 42 years, does not mean well both for the man and his country.

Gadaffi was one of the worst things to happen to Africa! His histrory will be written on the same page as that of Idi Amin. Those who are in support of him are either ignorant or simply blinded by the hate they have for the Western nations who stepped in to prevent a massacre that would have made Hitler a decent gentle man.
Re: Check Out Muammar Gaddafi's Leadership In Libya. by ifenadi(m): 12:32pm On Sep 05, 2011
my friends, give a dog a bad name, then kill it, Ghadafi was a state sponsor of terrorism, so is America, Bin Laden in Afghanistan against the Russians, The Contra Rebels in Nicaragua. Ghadafi was the second Arab Leader to proposethe gold Dinar standard, The first being Saddam Hussein (poor unfortunate idiot). The gold dinar standard as a means of buying crude would tip the balance of economic power to the oil producing countries, Infact Ghadaffi was looking for trouble and baam! the west acted and look what we have here now, the libyans are going to raped even further, they are going to canonise Ghaddaffi as a saint in some years to come,

using your logic very few countries create/manufacture things. The worlds manufacturing hub right now is asia in europe its germany
1.you said libya should be like dubai, and you say that libya manufactures nothing, dubai has no manufacturing industries and i see no difference between dubai and libay and point of correction dubai is an emirate while libya is a nation.du please bai is basically a hub for businesses.
and can you please enlighten me on the corrolation between libya(an african country) and europeans invading the country.

your exhibit signs of a mis educated negro who never understands that every thing in life is political and the west has no friends but permanent interest.
Re: Check Out Muammar Gaddafi's Leadership In Libya. by BlackLibya: 1:44am On Sep 07, 2011
Africans are woefully ignorant of colonialism, this can be said even of the Libyans, and it's probably due to them not thinking they are African. Africans like to think that colonialism brought them out of the dark ages, ha! They dont even know how it happened.

The situation in Libya is VERY much like the situations in the Kingdom of Kongo(Angola) and the Fante Confederation in Ghana.

In Kongo, while the clans were battling for power Pedro IV told the portuguese if they helped him get into power he would become a vassal. IDIOT! That was all she wrote for them.

The Fante did not like the Asante, they were afraid of the Asante. Of course, the British were already fighting the Asante, and by the time they defeated them(using mostly Fante troops) they told the Fante that they would protect them from them. Gradually, the British snuck and and gained control over the locals through their "chiefs".

Actually though, South Africa is my favorite. A tributary state to the Zulu didnt want to pay their tribute, so they complained to the De Beers corporation which owned a diamond concession. The De Beers(using Africans) went to war against the Zulu and forced them to capitulate into a protectorate.
