1. If you want to love your wife, love Christ. Whosoever loves Christ, will infallibly love his wife. That is why most male saints had their wives also saints: St. Basil the Elder & St. Emmelia, St. Isidore and St. Catherine, St. Henry (King) & St. Cunningude etc.
About this St. Paul said, "No man hateth his own flesh." It is impossible to love Christ and not to articulately love your wife because it is ONE love.


2. If as a woman you want to be submissive to your husband, love Christ - learn the faith, be chaste, be modest, be humble, enroll in a Church sodality - and you will. All unsubmissiveness to your husband, is a reflection of your struggle with submissiveness to Christ.


The Blessed Virgin Mary loved St. Joseph, above all men, after God. (& Vice versa)
