great landers why is it that for most job vacancies there is always a condition to go with it like having 2, 3 years experience. if they don't give you the opportunity to atleast show your stuff how would you gain that experience. this may mean danger for new graguates. or what do you think? |

You are suppose to gain experience from the small companies, where you will learn and earn little salary. The problem is that a lot of graduate will want to earn millions and that's why they look at big companies and multinationals where they will earn fat salary with the assumption that 'by the virtue of being graduate's. Let me ask you one question, if I tell you to come and work for me so that I will teach you, i.e, you gain experience you require for your career and pay you just your transport fare, will you agree? that's the problem, we always look at the wrong direction. where to earn big money without addind a single value to the organisation. experience has taught the companies the best way to shortlist huge application from qualified and unqualified applicants to any position advertised. what can you offer to a company? have you taught of that? apart from just doing what u will be asked to do, which everyother person can do. Let me save other peoples' time and stop. |

the funny thing is even the small company themselves are not willing to hire anybody even if it is for free just to get experience thy prefer experience people who will bring productivity to thier enterprise,i think the problem here is that the curriculum in our university is not industry based, unlike the curriculum u find at universities abroad where u do research with a company so that after the program you are directly hired to continue with the project, the best one can do in this situation to start attending specialized courses that meets the industry demand. |

One thing you don't know is that companies recruit more fresh garduates than Experieced staff. :oSurprised? When Companies recruit Trainees they recruit many at the same time. And might even recruit not more than 2 or 3 experienced in a whole year. For eg.NNPC recruited 1000 graduate trainees this year and only 50 experienced staff! Different banks have been shopping for Trainees recently and how many experienced have they shopped for? O.K ask your self this question-how many managers does a branch of a bank normally have? And how many younger or junior staff work under them.Companies are recruiting fresh graduates every day so keep posting your CV and compete with others. |
