There is a section of Shell Location Road in Oyigbo, Rivers State called Ejerenwa Avenue and its surroundings that have been without power supply for FIVE YEARS despite the efforts of the owners of properties in these areas,all to no avail.Even going the extra mile to procure a new transformer by themselves to generate electricity supply to solve the issue,it has never been powered for one day.
The Shell Location Road is even a no go area!
Situated in this location is a PHCN office,just a mile away also is an SPDC gas flow station with some oil wells littered over the place,yet the entire place is engrossed in darkness.
Parts of neighbouring Umuebule communities in Etche LGA have also been without electricity supply for two years running,the only people making brisk business in this vicinity are the filling station operators,generator repairers and engine oil retailers.
Who will rescue the occupants of these areas from this prolonged suffering?
