4 Ways to Ensure Accountability in your Bread Bakery

DEFINE WHAT EACH WORKER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR

Who is responsible when bread is missing? Who is responsible when raw materials is not complete for production? Who is responsible when sales is slow? When packaging materials gets finish, Who will you hold responsible for not informing the management.?
Ensure that you Communicate clearly and effectively what each worker job is. Let them know they will be held accountable if their job is not done effectively. Let it sink deep.

 PROVIDE EEFFECTIVE TRAINING.

This can not be over emphased. Make sure you train your staffs even before employment and also in the job. Even if it is for 2weeks. So you would be confident enough to ask for answers when things go wrong. If you don't train them how you want your bakery to be, don't be shock if they do things their way or work based on assumptions.

 LEAD BY EXAMPLE

You don't expect people to follow instructions when you have not led by example yourself. Do what is expected of your workers, show them how. Make mistakes and learn from them. Find out what works and what don't work. Don't just give instructions without testing the process and outcome!

 REALISE MISTAKES HAPPENS.

You are human. Same with your staff. And it is ok to make mistakes. When they make mistakes. Find out why the mistake is made in the first place and correct it. Talk with them rather than talk to them. Else if they make mistake next time, they won't be free to approach you. And it will make things go from bad to worse.
