Peter Obi in Chatham House refused to give any categorical and specific answers to all questions asked. To navigate away from his indecision, he jumped into football match analysis. He wants to patronize everyone to no end. This man is so very unpresidential!

In Chatham House, Peter Obi plans to navigate to foreign country in search of solutions to Nigeria’s healthcare problems. His plans can only be formed if he ever (impossibly) becomes the President. The highest form of lazy-mindedness from an aspiring leader.

While struggling to read from Teleprompter like a primary school comprehension student, Peter Obi appears not to understand what his shabby team put down from his cut-and-paste manifesto. Maybe, the manifesto was drafted and written in Bangladeshi language.

To Malam Peter Obi, Nigeria generates 56 thousand megawatts of electricity. Hero beer at work.

I said this before, every single thing being proposed by Peter Obi and Atiku Anubakar is already done by Buhari. Voting for them is a clear case of stagnation with the current. Tinubu is the only and objective way forward for Nigeria. He’s the rope of continuity for progress.

We can only continue to play politics of ethnicity, religion, region and money bags at the peril of our country and to self-destruction. We need selfless, courageous, honest, patriotic, in short, outstanding leadership with character and fear of God beyond what we have had in recent past.

None of the contestants is a saint but when one compares their character, antecedent, understanding, knowledge, discipline and vitality that they can bring to bear. The great efforts required to stay focused on the job particularly looking at where the country is today and with the experience on the job that I personally had, Peter Obi as a mentee has an edge.

Others like all of us have what they can contribute to the new dispensation to liberation, restoration and salvaging of Nigeria collectively. One other important point to make about Peter is that he is a needle with thread attached to it from North and South and he may not get lost. In other words, he has people who can pull his ears, if and when necessary. Needless to say that he has a young and able running mate with clean track record of achievement both in public and private life.

Giving Obi a chance in 2023 would not be largesse to the bespectacled ascetic what is at stake transcends one man he is just a catalyst for the new Nigeria we desire. It is more about the things his emergence would represent: that the people come first, that democracy must indeed be of the people, by the people and for the people.

That anyone can emerge as president no matter what part of the country they come from or how they worship, as long as they are best suited for the job; that people with the sheer power to vote can sack the stale politicians with their shopworn ideas and toxicity.

Nigeria at this time needs a visionary, not an emperor. We must wrest ourselves from the manacles of those who have held us bound and have become entitled to our commonwealth. We must shun prejudices as we forge ahead to become a prosperous nation. We must make this Obi experiment now and turn the tide against the political elite because fortune only favours the brave. It is in our hands.
The revolution is still loading. There was indeed a candidate

The positive interpretation is that President Buhari would ensure next year’s presidential election is free and fair, a point he has, indeed, made. But the negative interpretation is that he doesn’t care about the integrity, character and honesty of who succeeds him.

That negative interpretation is my concern here, and it’s premised on Buhari’s support for the election of Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president. It concerns me because I’m fully convinced that a Tinubu presidency would not only destabilise Nigeria internally, it would damage Nigeria globally, making it a big laughing stock, a butt of dark international jokes!

Truth is, next year’s presidential election will have huge long-term implications, its outcome will affect Nigeria for decades. Therefore, no patriotic Nigerian should sit on the fence; that patriotism is what underpins this intervention. To be sure, the presidential election should be as much about character as manifesto.

The presidency is too serious an office to be invested in someone with serious integrity deficit. Those ignoring character and integrity should remember the Turkish proverb: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus.”

But here are questions for President Buhari: Is he aware of the damaging allegations swirling around Tinubu? Given what he knows, does he think Tinubu is a fit and proper person to be Nigeria’s president? Is he happy that Tinubu’s life, pedigree and backstory are veiled in secrecy or, as someone puts it, a “miasma of dubiety”?

In the US, every major presidential candidate is an open book. But not Tinubu. He arrogantly refuses to answer uncomfortable questions about his past. Instead, he uses surrogates: Festus Keyamo, Femi Fani-Kayode, Bayo Onanuga.

Who see him as their route to advancement and are blatantly lying to Nigerians, treating them as morons. Recently, they came full throttle with deliberate untruths about the drug allegations against Tinubu.

Talk is indeed cheap!
Governance is deeper than merely reeling out known problems without specific practicable solutions.

Without sentiment, Obi is just an average man both in intellect, competence and capacity who cannot offer anything spectacular to turn around the multifaceted challenges bewildering the county.

We identified Obi is a dullard after watching his CNN interview. That was months ago.

After his televised performance at Chatham, far more people agree with us that the man is deficient in leadership qualities.

There was nothing to fault in Obi's appearance yesterday.

Obi disappointed them!

They prayed for him to gaffe and make mistakes so they would have his errors to feed on in Social Media Today, but God failed to answer their prayers!
