Since the start of the race for the 2023 presidential elections, a curious observer will observe that senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu's supporters have made the campaign an ethnic propaganda against the Igbo. By extension, Peter Obi who eventually emerged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party who happens to be Igbo and a frontrunner is a subject of tribal innuendos and attacks.
Tinubu's supporters have tried to use every opportunity stoke up real or imaginary tensions between Igbos and northerners.
Even when a northerner attacks Tinubu's aspiration, instead of replying the attacker, Tinubu's supporters would turn it into an anti-Igbo tirade.
It is so obvious that part of senator Tinubu's campaign strategy is to see if the Yorubas especially the Yoruba Muslims can gang-up with the north against the Igbos by bringing up bitter memories of the Nigeria civil war and most recently Igbos rejection of Buhari in 2015 and 2019.
Tinubu's supporters have been hammering on power shift to the South which is right and proper.
But each time the issue of going the whole hog of power shifting to the Southeast and not just to the South is mentioned, Tinubu's supporters would resort to anti-Igbo sentiments. Equity and justice would no longer matter to them.
Lately, they have tried making Peter Obi look like an ethnic candidate who has no support from other tribes especially the north. Obi's rallies in Kaduna, lately Gombe and Abuja seems to have burst their propaganda but they are not giving up.
Attacks on people in the Southeast are blamed on IPOB without evidence (they might be responsible sometimes) and Tinubu's supporters try to robe Peter Obi in as though he has been sworn in as Nigeria's commander-in-chief or is still the chief security officer of one of the affected states.
Now it is crystal clear that president Buhari is not supportive of the use of slush funds to mobilise thugs and bribe voters so as to influence the outcome of this year's presidential election. G
Guess who is kicking against this noble program most? Guess who is taking it personal?
Is the tribalistic propaganda by Tinubu's supporters against Peter Obi boomeranging?

Those guys have successfully given Yoruba a bad name. How can you be supporting a ma.d man? Even if you don't like Obi, what about Sowore, Adebayo, or Atiku?

The hatred and attempt to reduce Obi's candidacy to IPOB agenda has drawn more SS and middle belt people towards Obi. Most minority groups do not want to suffer ethnic profiling like the Igbos so they're now going all out for Obi. They think only Igbos are going through a lot in terms of ethnic profiling and marginalisation. Go to Middle Belt and see what people are going through.

They call everybody Igbo just to spite Obi. Just this morning, many of them don't even know that Frank Edoho is an indigene of Akwa Ibom. They went all out calling him Igbo and IPob just because he supports Obi.

They tot Nigerians are foolish.

Igbos have been marginalized for years just to force them into oblivion.

But today they're still richer than those that held power over the years.

Wether good or bad Igbos only care about their right to self determination.

Well said. But I don't agree that any of the presidential candidates is a mad man sir. There are also lots of responsible God fearing, equity and justice loving Yoruba people. A lot of Yorubas especially Yoruba Christians are supporting Peter Obi. Thank you.

A lot of good yorubas are on the side of Obi. Those who are against him,or even Atiku, are those hoping on Tinubu for some largess. It has become obvious, that those set of persons didn't love Buhari from the onset, they saw him as the means to Tinubu's presidency. Their love for Buhari was not genuine.

Wether anyone likes it or not, the Yoruba Muslim have succeeded in dividing the Yoruba race into (Yoruba Christian and Yoruba Muslim).

Every attack on the South East is coming from Yoruba Muslim. No sensible Omoluabi with functioning brain will act the way these clown (Yoro Muslim) behave.

Their initial mantra was that there's no credible candidate from the east, imagine the insult, a whole five states and by extension at least some parts of 3 states from south south
If there is no credible candidate in South East, then bring an igboic from South south. Now, Anything you talk, they will say the north don't know Obi as they themselves are Notherners.
On a good note and for equity, if they say it's the turn of the South, are they even supposed to have provided a candidate for this particular presidential election. They have been shouting it's the South turn but don't believe it's the South East turn all because of greediness and hatred. Southern unity my foot
