Have they raid bank mangers who hawk new currencies to politicians?? I think they should force the right people to look into how many new currencies are given to each bank and how much was dispensed for each transaction. They would know whatsup

Nigerians, there are three words I use to describe all of us: Hypocrites, fraudsters and opportunists.

It's hard to survive in this country and not be one because Nigeria doesn't encourage growth through enterprise or industry.

CBN and the commercial banks are something else, imagine CBN can't afford to compel the commercial banks to do the right thing for almost 3 weeks plus. Someone bought 300k with 15k from a commercial bank for pos business. Everything is messy.

What do you mean by what have change?

Do you know the kind of havoc that would have happen in Nigeria if the deadline was not extended yesterday?

Emefiele didn't handle this currency issue well at all.

Nigeria introduce new ₦100 notes in 2014, there was no issue

Soludo introduce new denominations, there was no issue

Have you ask yourself why the process was fine during Sanusi and Soludo tenure?

The CBN knew there was not enough New notes, yet was planning to phase out the old notes in less than 3 month, in a country as big as Nigeria

A country were some Local Government no dey even get banks.

The Cashless Policy have been existing even before Emefiele became the CBN Governor.

Common sense should have let him know new notes can't circulate in less 3 month and the old notes can't even be phase out in less than 3 month

Here in Lagos with lots of banks, people dey see shege com imagine wetin go dey happen in states with very few banks, states like Sokoto, Ekiti, Yobe, Bayelsa etc

The stupid policy was leading Nigeria to chaos, the sensible thing was to backtrack so people no go enter street.

You yourself, you live in Nigeria, you dey use your eyes see the kin stress people dey go because of Emefiele stupid policy and you felt we should just have continue marching on in the hardship.

Well, the CBN was even going against the law by saying the old notes can't be accepted by banks again from 31st of January. According to our law, the banks must keep on accepting the old notes from people who still have the old notes after the deadline.

buhari and emefiele are a tagged team. everything they touch dies. emefieles handling of the economy has been dreadful. forex is scarce under emefiele. then naira that is under his direct management is scarce. unfortunately, many nigerians who think like buhari dont see anything wrong with such incompetence
they re destroying business thinking they re suffering politicians

The Central Bank is the cause of the scarcity of naira notes, and its actions have been deliberate.

There have been currency hawkers for decades, but there has not been an issue of scarcity of naira notes, until now.

The Central Bank has started a financial war; a war between the Central Bank administration with its foreign sponsors, against the general population of the country.

The enforced cashless policy is all about control. There is certainly foreign or international pressure on the Central Bank to eliminate cash.
