CBN is doing the right thing.

What i expect the scarcity of cash to achieve is that very soon, we begin to see payment systems for small businesses that will not require the use of cash. we will only need minimal cash, if bus drivers have payment system that will only require you to swipe a card on their device, you will not need to give them cash.

I expect supermarkets where you can make payments with your card to make more sales now than the open market where you must pay cash.
since i dont have much cash i will only go to the market where i can pay with my card.

Let our Fintech people go to work now.
Baba your head is there, price of things would crash soon, we only need to be patient. The only issue is cbn needs to ensure banks have better electronic channels because now it's hard to even do transfers; the channels are over loaded with traffic. Over to fintechs to take advantage.

All easy measures to do online transactions ought to have been put in place before introducing this silly cashless policy causing suffering for Nigerians. Just coming back from the bank now it's like the half of population of the entire town queues on the ATM just to withdraw why? Cos there is no alternative, if there is, people will make use of it or who like to suffer? . No bank app has been doing well since 3 days ago, i can't open my bank app. Thank God say i have some money left on my Opay, that's how i have been surviving. The West we guys want to copy has many means of doing transactions online; Apple pay, Samsung pay, NFC e.t.c

People should also start embracing money transfer. That's main agenda of naira redisign.

For Emefiele to redisign it at this period, the cashless agenda has already failed.

The scarcity will be persistent till election day, and CBN won't have choice than to keep injecting money into the circulation, before you know, we back to where we were before

He should have left vote buying for security agencies to tackle it and face the core mandate of CBN.

So if I want to hiy good of 500 naira I will transfer and be dashing banks charges

They should adopt QR code for payment, that's how china do. Let's embrace technology, if you leave your market to go and queue for money, when do you want to make sales. Let's see how this month will unfold.

Stop analysing rubbish,a country with poor telecom network infrastructure and ravaging insecurity that decides to go on cashless policy and refuse to allow money in people hands is just sitting on a time bomb.what if bokoharam and bandits start blowing up telecom masts.

So it's not just mine.
Since Monday been unable to use bank application.
I have sent mail several times and was getting scared that my application has been hacked. The only thing that has strengthened me is that I have not seen any alert of withdrawals,so I believe it isn't hacked.
The little cash with me I now treasure it like kilode and everyday I go to check that the pere cash is still there. grin

Did you see Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, etc waiting to withdraw money at any ATM or at any fuel station to buy fuel? No!

Bad governance affects all irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation. So those who think voting in a bad candidate based on ethnicity or religion is spiting others should take notes on how collective bad decisions affect all. To what extent did indigenes of Katsina benefit from PMB's Presidency? grin grin grin

Like I always say, no matter who vote, he and his immediate family will be ok. How about you and your immediate family after the election is over and politicians hibernate to enjoy their loot in peace? Your life will still suck. The best you can do is come back here and create a thread for wailing: " How much is bread, fuel, food, etc in your area?" grin grin

I hope those little children thinking this policy wont affect them have parent working in the bank that can supply them the money.
Imagine some idiots saying we should make all payments with transfer or we should use 100 naira notes. You would know they are still feeding from their parents and have no responsibilities.
The pos woman that was giving me new note cannot even get it any more. Lol

They were jumping all over Nairaland saying all sort of nonsense. Now the chaos is starting.

The do transfer go cashless they have been shouting up and down yen yen yen, just 3 days and most banks are having issues, transfer not dropping.

Too many daft people in this country.
Everything is politics to them or tribalism.
Life is hard for over 90% of adults thanks to this policy. I wonder if these nairalanders hailing Emefiele have responsibilities.

Sound cool...but it is UTOPIA for now.
We don't have such infrastructure for such Fintech in Nigeria at the moment.
Until all the market women, artisans and commercial motorists have online transaction facilities then we are good to go.
Not every one patronize ShopRite, Next....We still have fans of Effurun, Igbudu, Main Market and San San markets.

I agree that there should have been a period of preparation and adequate notice to ensure that all the technologies are in place before the implementation. This present one is impromptu.

CBN SHOULD STOP GIVING COMMERCIAL BANKS NEW NOTES.
LET CBN USE THEIR SUPER AGENTS TO DISTRIBUTE THE NEW NOTES IN NATIONAL STADIA.IT ALL PLANNING.
OR LET CBN IMMEDIATELY COMMANDEER ALL COMMERCIAL BANK ATMS AND LOAD THE NEW NOTES DIRECTLY. angry

ALL THE COMMERCIALS BANKS HAVE BREACH MONETARY POLICY WITH THEIR CRIMINAL MANAGEMENT BENT ON SABOTAGING THIS CASHLESS POLICY.

Well, I'm not surprised. You're nothing but a mental slowpoke suffering from a state of mental oblivion. You quickly forgot that before things or policies like this are initiated or implemented in saner climes, they've put things in order and created enabling conditions to support the people in easy and stress free transition. So you want to tell me you don't know that remote rural areas exist with people who are not in touch with your cashless technology systems? How do they survive by transacting in business through cashless payments and transfers? You only think one-sided with a bird's eye view. What you're saying and supporting here is simply putting a cart before the horse. After making your proposed technology and new currency available, then proceed to effect the change. Then you're morally and otherwise justified.
