SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH MEETS WITH NNEWI ANGLICAN DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF LAITY, VISITS DIOCESAN SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTER.

*SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH URGES THE CHURCH TO ALWAYS PRAY FOR CONSTITUTED AUTHORITIES, REAFFIRMS WILL TO PROMOTE PEOPLE’S WELLBEING AS HE ATTENDS SET APART AND MEETING OF NNEWI ANGLICAN DIOCESAN COUNCIL OF LAITY, VISITS THE DIOCESAN SPECIAL EDUCATION CENTER*

_After his meeting with the Laity Council, Senator Ubah and his wife led their entourage to the Diocesan Special Education Center which was established to rehabilitate, educate and care for people living with various forms of disability. During their brief visit to the facility, they had one on one interaction with the occupants and presented various gift items to them. The occupants in return, made special prayers for the Senator_

The Senator representing Anambra South and Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Saturday, called on the church not to relent in praying for people in leadership or public positions. Senator Ubah made the call during the Set Apart and Meeting of the Nnewi Anglican Diocesan Council of Laity at the Diocesan Church Center (DCC), Nnewi. According to him, the role of the Church in nation building cannot be overemphasized. He further urged the church to always pray for divine wisdom and guidance upon constituted authorities.

Senator Ubah who was flanked by his wife Mrs Uche Ubah also appreciated the Diocese for showing continuous support for his legislative activities and maintained that the church has crucial role to play in the sustenance of peace, orderliness and security in the society. He further reassured the Laity Council, Nnewi Diocese, the Anglican Communion and Body of Christ that he will not relent in supporting legitimate groups and organisations to promote the wellbeing of the people. The Anambra South Senator further informed the Council that in response to their appeals, he will provide a brand new bus for them to enable them to smoothly deliver their services in the lord’s vineyard.

Speaking on his recent activities in the Red Chamber, Senator Ubah informed the gathering that recently, he flagged off the execution of “Operation Light-Up and Secure Anambra South Project” which features installation of solar powered facilities that are equipped with a Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Light System and other powerful electronic gadgets that will help security agencies in surveillance and security analysis in all Wards of Nnewi North Local Government Area. The Senator further revealed that each ward in Anambra South Senatorial District received fifty units of the solar powered facilities and that he is hopeful that with the project execution, grassroots businesses will boost thereby promoting people’s wellbeing.

Commenting on his Corporate Social Responsibility as a private citizen, the Anambra South Senator disclosed that he built facilities that are aimed at creating employment opportunities. He further maintained that Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi-Ozubulu and Authority 91.9FM, Nnewi have generated employment opportunities that are assisting many families in carrying out their various responsibilities. The Senator also reassured the Council that he will leave no stone unturned in partnering with relevant authorities in the development of various communities and urged them to maintain their continuous support for him in order to sustain facilitation of quality programmes and projects in the Senatorial District.

Also speaking, YPP Candidate for 2023 Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency Election Hon Peter Uzokwe urged the Laity Council to consolidate their love for YPP by voting massively for the party in the 2023 National Assembly and State Assembly elections as that will bring in more developmental opportunities to Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo and entire Anambra South. Hon Uzokwe also urged the church to always pray for constituted authorities and assured them that their sacrifices shall never be in vain.

Responding, the Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Ndubuisi Chukwuka Obi appreciated Senator Ubah for his numerous legislative and personal actions which are aimed at supporting various groups and organizations to promote the wellbeing of the people. The Bishop who was represented by the Chaplain of the Diocesan Council of Laity Rev Canon Godwin Onuchukwu specifically appreciated the Senator for his intervention project at St Christopher’s Anglican Church Umuezena and prayed God to bless his ambition, and grant more grace and protection upon him and his entourage.

Also present at the events were the President of the Laity Council Chief Muozom Edward, the Council’s Second Vice-President Hon Samuel Ejimbe, the third Vice-President Lazarus Obikobe and the Council’s Archdeaconry Leader (DCC) Elder Chima Ochulor. Others include the Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation Chief Vin Onyeka, Chief Dan Edokwe and members of Afaigboefuna Solidarity led by their president Chief Ernest Otugo.
