We are setting up a Special Task Force in the state to clamp down on the excesses of Point of Sale (POS) agents, who charge arbitrary fees in the wake of the cash crunch caused by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s currency swap policy.

I disclosed this during an enlarged meeting with market women drawn from the state’s three senatorial districts, held at the Government House.

The Special Taskforce will include Central Bank of Nigeria, Department of State Services (DSS), other security agencies, government officials, members of Civil Society Organisations (CSO) and market women.

God forbid, edo state na anyhow state. Last week Friday at Ramat roundabout I spent 3k to withdraw 10k. Govt should please tackle this new level of financial insurgency before it gets out of hand. Nigeria is filled with very wicked and corrupt sets of people and they are all quick to blame government.

Go to ATM, na POS people full the line with more than 15 ATM Cards per person. Normal people like you and me won't see money to withdraw.

POS operators are part of the reasons for this scarcity, same POS people will rip you off when you go to withdraw cash from them.

Stupidity. What concerns POS agents with failures of CBN governor and Bullhari? People that spent hours, days, looking for the money.... now you want to regulate their charges, are they banks? Seriously, am in support of that. Imagine withdrawling 10k and the POS agent charge u 3k, taking 30percent of money wai u no work for. no be broad day light robbery be that?

This man is a clown. POS agents have nothing to do with the naira scarcity. It was same Pos agents that were charging just #200 for 20K withdrawal few months ago before Naira redesign.

If ATMs are dispensing cash nobody will bother using Pos agents. Some weeks ago in the whole of Ago and Okota only 1 Access bank atm was dispensing. This corridor has over 15 banks.

3 Access bank branches, 1 UBA, 1 Stanbic Ibtc, 1Ecobank, 1 Polaris, 1 Fidelity, 2 Gtbank branches, 1 Fcmb, 1 Zenith Bank, 1 Firstbank, 1 Sterling bank and 1 Keystone bank.

Politicians like to chase shadows. Police should raid every bank vault and charge both CEO and branch managers to court for committing felonies against the state.

POS operators have only two options.
1. Buy bank notes at exorbitant rates and sell at exorbitant pro max rates to feed their families.
2. Don't buy and sell bank notes and watch their families either starve or run to another man's house.

I am not a POS operator neither am I supporting the outrageous charges.
I am just another realistic Nigerian who doesn't support hypocrisy.

Why would government go after the poor POS operators instead of the banks which are the real cause of the problem?
