Lol.

CBN will not pay out the old notes to banks. It's been mopped up already. Where will you get the old notes from to use? How much old notes do you think is outside now when CBN claimed to have retrieved over 75% of it's target?

Here in Lagos, old and new notes are still circulating. When the banks get old notes, they are supposed to keep it and issue new notes. But they have not enough new notes. That’s why they recycling old notes to the system.

😂

My concern is why aren't these people pushing for more new notes to be released into the economy. Why is their concern only about the old notes to continue being legal tender?

Banks would still not pay out old notes and except you've stocked up old notes at home, this is just a total waste of time, except CBN reverts and push old notes into the economy as the new notes printed isn't much. Cash shortage problem hasn't been addressed yet.

The problem isn't old notes. The problem scarcity of the new notes. If there isn't enough new notes, then CBN has no choice but to allow the old notes co-exist with the new notes until there's enough new notes in circulation.

The headline is simply misleading. There is absolutely nothing in the report to suggest what the headline is reporting. This is a case between some states and the FG. The AGF simply filed a response to the suit of the governor. The Supreme Court order maintaining status quo till 15th of February remains valid. If you have old notes, you are free to spend it till 15th of February when the court will decide whether to vacate or extend the order.

Stop misleading people sir. Without any other pronouncement from CBN governor extending the time, the state governors are there for academic exercise.

if you read carefully that order was made against the federal government. Now ask yourself, was it the federal government or the CBN that gave the deadline. The governors do not have any dispute with the federal government rather with the CBN that gave the deadline. And any dispute involving the CBN will first be heard in a Federal High Court and not the Supreme Court….

Imagine going to the bank after 10th with your old notes to deposit it and the bank rejects it, will you tell the bank that they must collect it from you because there’s a Supreme Court order to the contrary. Remember that the Apex bank (CBN) was not made a party to the suit that gave rise to that order …

Please, let’s be guided.

Clash of the Titans cheesy grin El Rufai and Co want to flex muscle with federal power, this is not APC presidential primary that power rest on state governors grin grin

The AGF Malami should be stripped of his SAN title. The last time Chief Age Babalola and Olanipekun approached the Supreme Court to reverse itself, what was the outcome? The eminent lawyers were fined and reprimanded seriously.

The AGF being well aware of such precedent is now approaching the Supreme Court not only to reverse itself but to tell itself that it had no jurisdiction over a suit the Supreme Court had already scheduled for hearing and has even made an order in respect of. What kind of nonsense lawyer is Malami. Even a baby lawyer knows the like outcome of this stupid misadventure of the AGF before the Supreme Court.

Tinubu is a victim of his own greed and wickedness. Only a daft bigot will support a demented old drug dealer to preside over a country.

If it was Yoruba that fought Biafra war by now it will be a desert . Remember Britain fought the war and not Nigeria because we thought them a lesson.
