The spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign, Bayo Onanuga, has declared that the Attorney General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, is a “public enemy” in the same vein as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.

This statement was made in response to a preliminary objection filed by the justice minister, through his lawyers Mahmud Magaji and Tijanni Gazali, which requested the Supreme Court of Nigeria to dismiss a suit filed by three northern governors.

The governors of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara, Nasir El-Rufai, Yahaya Bello, and Bello Matawalle, respectively, had brought the federal government and the CBN before the Supreme Court in an effort to halt the implementation of the naira redesign policy.


They argued that the notice timeline for the policy was too short and did not comply with [/b]the reasonable notice obligation as required by law.

The governors also claimed that the presidency had not done enough to facilitate the transition of the currency notes.
