Local maritime authorities in East China's Shandong Province announced on Sunday that they had spotted an unidentified flying object in waters near the coastal city of Rizhao in the province and were preparing to shoot it down, reminding fishermen to be safe via messages.

BEIJING (Sputnik) - An unidentified object was spotted on Sunday flying over the waters of the coastal province of Shandong in China's east, with the country's authorities preparing to shoot it down, a local maritime bureau said.

"An unidentified flying object was spotted over the waters near the city of Rizhao," the bureau said in a message sent to fishermen, as quoted by the Chinese media.

The notice added that the relevant authorities were preparing to shoot the object down. In this connection, the maritime bureau urged fishing boats to follow safety rules, the news outlet reported. The maritime authority also requested fishermen to take photos of the object if it falls nearby.
The bureau did not specify what the flying object was and whether it was eventually taken down, according to the media.
The Unites States and Canada shot down a total of three high-altitude airborne objects in February, including one that was taken down on Saturday over Canada's Yukon territory.

The reaction of the US to the weather balloon is both an over reaction and an under reaction.
It's an over reaction because it was politicized for propaganda.
It's an under reaction because it should have been detected and shot down while transiting over the Pacific Ocean before it got to the North American mainland (the point is, it should never have gotten to the North American mainland).
China and the US/Canada/Mexico do not share a land border, they're geographically separated by the Pacific Ocean.
You have to fly over oceans to get to the US from China and vice versa.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has cancelled a "national defense airspace" over part of Lake Michigan, just hours after closing the airspace.
"Pilots who do not adhere to the following [procedure] may be intercepted, detained and interviewed by law enforcement or security personnel," the organization warned in the initial announcement, adding that such pilots may face deadly force in the air.

The FAA is yet to clarify as to why it initially banned civilian air traffic from the area.
Earlier, the FAA declared a "national defense airspace" over Montana in response to an alleged unidentified flying object. However, it was later established that it was a "radar anomaly," and no object was discovered.
Nonetheless, Matt Rosendale, the Republican representative for Montana, claimed that the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORCOM) had confirmed to him that there was an unidentified object hovering in US airspace again.

“I am in constant communication with NORCOM and they have just advised me that they have confidence there IS an object and it WAS NOT an anomaly. I am waiting now to receive visual confirmation. Our nation’s security is my priority,” Rosendale tweeted.

The development comes as an unidentified flying object was shot down over northern Canada on Saturday, marking the third time in a week that US fighter jets were dispatched to take down UFOs in North American airspace. On February 10, a US F-22 destroyed an unidentified object in Alaska airspace, while a week ago, F-22s shot down a Chinese balloon off the coast of South Carolina. The US claimed that the Chinese balloon was a surveillance airship, while Beijing insists that the dirigible was engaged in scientific research and inadvertently blew off course.

The Chinese reaction is top class.
Unlike the West, they didn't do gra gra or make so much noise yet they proved they're very capable, competent and pragmatic.

When you look at the map of North America, you'll realize that the alleged Chinese Balloon (that the West made so much noise about) penetrated the North American coastlines to get to the mainland.
The overhyped NATO was unable to detect and shoot it until it was brought to thier attention by ordinary civilians that spotted the drifting 'spy balloon' overhead them.
