A junior accountant is needed by a FMCG company in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Salary is N120,000 monthly. Basic qualifications for the job are an HND or higher in accounting, plus at least 3 years cognate experience post-graduation. The job involves managing accounts payables and receivables, posting to ledger accounts and other basic accounting functions. The successful candidate will be fully computer literate and have experience using accounting software packages.

Other benefits include a free lunch daily, HMO and paid leave. Work-week accommodation is also a possibility, but not guaranteed.

The work period is 8.30am to 6.30pm, five days a week.

Responsibilities

Management of the Farm Inventory ledger, daily monitoring of the transactions recorded, and monthly reconciliation of the Inventory module with the General ledger.
Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting regulations.
Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
Keeping informed about current legislation relating to accounting.
Protecting the Company's margins through control of farm operational costs and maximization of income.
Coordinating daily accounting activities of the business
Ensuring the books of account are all balanced and ready for management presentation.
Putting together all the different account balance of each unit in the organization.
Managing Accounts payable and receivable
Monthly reports on Farm Revenue against budget and review of the Cost of Sales.
Train and manage performance of other account staff
Payroll preparation and administration
Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
Managing accounting software used by Greatland Farms
Qualification and Requirements

B.Sc/B.A in Accounting, or related courses.
3- 6 years’ experience.
Proven work experience as an Accountant
Proficiency in accounting software
Professional membership of ICAN is an added advantage
M.Sc/ MBA is an added advantage.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
An analytical mind with strategic abilities.
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
