Family Rejects Bride Price Paid In Old Naira Notes A family in Lagos has refused to hand over their daughter in marriage after the suitor arrived with old naira notes to pay her bride price. Speaking for the family, a relative of the bride said ''we cannot afford to hand over our daughter to this man with this his old currency. If he wants our daughter, he has no choice but to go out there and find a way to acquire the new currency to pay her bride price.''
