Written by Blessing Olutayo

The following day, which was Saturday, Susan's parent were ready to escort their daughter, Susan, to where she will board a car that will take her to the city as they watched her carrying her luggage and some items out of her room.

Meanwhile, they were also waiting for Grace to arrive.

However, It was not only Susan that they give birth to, but they also have male children who are older than Susan and who usually help their father on his farm, as they woke up to meet their parents.

"Good morning." They greeted their parent as they frustrated.

"Morning, my wonderful boys." Susan's mother said as they walked toward them.

"And are the two of you going to the farm?" Susan's father asked and they nodded their heads.

"But why can't you see your see off before you go?" Susan's father asked them and before the two boys could reply, Grace entered, interrupting them.

"Good morning, sir. Good morning, ma'am." Grace greeted Susan's parents while the boys were just looking at Grace.

"Welcome, ma'am." Susan and her parent greeted her.

"Thank you." Grace beamed with smile.

"And are you ready for the journey?" Grace looked at Susan.

"Yes, ma'am." Susan smiled and clasped her luggage onto herself.

At that point, Felicia entered and went to hug Susan and pulled her cheek.

"And why did you like pulling my cheek?" Susan complained, but Felicia smiled, Ignoring her and went to greet her parents.

"Good morning." She greeted them.

"Morning. And how was your night?" They asked her.

"It was fine." She said and they turned to look at Grace and Susan who were standing and looking at them.

And by that time, the two boys had already left the house for the farm.

"Are the two of you not going again." Susan's father asked them.

"We will go. We are waiting for you before we move on." Grace said.

"Okay, let's go." Susan's father ordered them as they moved toward them.

And in no time, they walked out of the house to where they would board a car that we take them to the city.

And within forty- five minutes, they arrived at the motor park where they were to board a car, but people that were also traveling came and began to enter the car Immediately the bus conductor called the name of the city.

"Mum! Dad! I will miss you." Susan said at the brink of tears as Grace told her to enter the car.

"We will also miss you, but make sure you take good care of yourself over there." They said and hugged her tightly while Felicia did the same to her.

"Bye." She waved at them happily as she was going to the car while Susan's parent waved back at her and went home when the car eventually drove off.

**************

Susan sat at the back seat of the car with some passengers that were dozing as they laid their head against the car seat while Susan was only looking out from the car window and wondering why all the tree that stood beside the road was moving.

However, this was her first time she would travel out from the village. And she was on this thought when one of the passengers hit her with her head.

"Eh! My head." Susan touched her head, looking at the passenger and hissed when she saw the passenger was dozing.
She averted her gaze from the passenger and looked at Grace who was sitting next to her and at that point, she felt so happy that she was following her to the city.

But later on, she turned and looked out through the car window as she saw she was also dozing.

She kept on looking out till the car came to a halt after seven hour while people began to wake up and alight from the car, but Susan began to looked at her environment as she stay away from Grace that was near the car trunk. Everything around her was just looking new to her.

"Won't you come here and take your luggage?" came Grace's voice, jolting Susan from her thought as she stood at a spot.

"Take your luggage." Grace stretched out the luggage to her.

"Thank you, ma'am." Susan appreciated as she collected the luggage from her and moved away from her.

"Have you been to this place before?" Grace asked, wanting to get some tips on what Susan know concerning the city as she walked and stood beside her.

"No, ma'am. And where are we now?" Susan turned, looking at her as she walked along the road, but Grace smiled at her before she could reply her question.

"We are in Lagos state."

"Lagos state." Susan repeated the word as she looked at Grace with confused countenance but Grace nodded her head.

"But why is this place different from the village." Susan asked.

"It is because this place is a city. But don't worry you will soon be familiar to this place. So let's us go." Grace ordered her and they began to walked as Grace was peering her eye on the road as they reached a particular junction far from where they alighted.

While the car stopped and drove toward them.

"Madam. Where are you going to?" The driver asked as he poked his head out through the car window.

"Oshodi." Grace quickly answered as she and Susan walked a little bit where the car was.

"Okay, you can enter." The driver said and Susan and Grace quickly entered as they closed the car door.

While the driver increased the volume of the song that was playing in the background.

And within a few minutes of entering in, Grace began to looked confused and dreaded as the driver took a route that did not align to her destination as they were the only ones in the car.
Susan sitting her noticed her reaction and wanted to talked to her but kept quiet Immediately she spoke to the driver at that moment.

"And hope you have not forgotten that I'm going to Oshodi?" Grace asked and the driver nodded his head.

At that point, Grace thought he was just nodding to the song that was played, so she decided to repeat her question.

But this time around, she tapped the driver before she speak and the driver answered.

"Eh, what happened?" The driver said as he was driving his cab and Grace spoke Immediately.

"I said, hope you have not forgot that I'm going to Oshodi." Grace looked Intently at the driver, but before the driver could respond to her question. He shouted.

"Oh! What is all this?" He shook his head.
