MBARI SERIES: OKEDIRAN, AL-BISHAK, BARRET, SYLVESTER TO HEADLINE FEBRUARY EDITION, HOLDS TOMORROW FEBRUARY 18

The Mbari Series, a monthly literary discussion series that focuses on creative writing and Nigerian Literature, is pleased to announce its lineup for the February Edition.

The Mbari Series is an initiative of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) under the leadership of Mr. Camillus Ukah, the current ANA President. It is a platform that promotes literary discourse and provides a space for critical engagement with Nigerian literature. It has played a significant role in shaping the discourse around Nigerian literature and in promoting the development of the literary scene in Nigeria.

The Mbari Series is proud to announce its February Edition, which will feature an exciting lineup of literary personalities and discussants. The monthly literary discussion series, which focuses on creative writing and Nigerian literature, will take place on the 18th of February, 2023 at the Femi Osofisan Secretariat, Chinua Achebe International Conference Centre, Mamman Vatsa Writers Village, Abuja.

This edition of the Mbari Series will be hosted by Prof. Udenta O. Udenta and moderated by Dr. Joan Orji and Mr. Taiwo Akerele. The theme for the discussion will be "The Role of the Writer/Intellectual in the dynamics of choice". The event will start at 11:00AM and promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking discussion.

ANA is delighted to announce that the following distinguished literary personalities and discussants will headline the event: Prof. Nuhu Yaqub, Dr. Wale Okediran, Lindsay Barrett, Prof. Mallam Al-Bishak, Prof. Abdulhameed Ozohu-Sulaiman, and Prof. Vicky Sylvester. These individuals are respected experts in the field of Nigerian literature and have made significant contributions to the development of the literary scene in Nigeria.

ANA is inviting all lovers of Nigerian literature, students, scholars, and the general public to attend this event and join in the discussion. The event is free and open to the public.

Lindsay Barrett is a Jamaican-born poet, novelist, essayist, playwright, journalist and photographer.

Professor Vicky Sylvester is a writer who has been teaching at the Department of English, University of Abuja for the past 30 years
