My personal opinion, if the aim of this is to mop up cash ment for voter buying, funds should be frozen till after elections.

Modified

Freeze transaction not the acct.

Update from CBN Gov

Confusion in the land

Isn't it funny that the very same people who loudly and
vigorously enabled the legendary Buhari stiff-
necked style of policy formulation and execution
over the past 8 years are now the same people crying
over the results of their own hard work?🤣
I used to think that the "C" in APC stood for either criminal or clueless, but maybe it actually stands for comedy?🤣

Great.

Note, this isn't a win for either Buhari, Obidients or Tinubu, but a win for normalcy and the average Nigerian. A great scheme of this magnitude shouldn't be done in a shoddy and haphazard manner.

I still love you Jesus Christ, as the only Way, Truth and the Life.

There are reports of some banks collecting the old 500/1000 notes today without customers filling any CBN online form. Wont this defeat the purpose of the procedure laid down by CBN? Implementation has always been the issue with Nigerian initiatives.

They must get our corrupt leaders grin. I love this process. Instead of urchins to follow the process, they'd be listening to the dictates of their political godfathers who would order them to be protesting all over and be burning down banks and private properties

CBN says crediting your account will take up to 4 weeks. That's really bad.

The cbn website is also congested. I hope it will not collapse because of traffic. It's not easy to register

Wow
CBN and FG trying all it possible best to help 🇳🇬ns scale through this hard economic hurdle.

Delegating the deposit to other banks has made it even more easy. Now other traders can trade and deposit it ASAP.

Please don't visit any site
For money above 500k visit any CBN office in your state

Okay, what are the thought of commercial bank's CEO? I've not heard anything from them or were they been cowed by Emefiele.

The policy is a good one, but the intention of those carrying it out is ruining everything.

BluntCrazeMan:

I went to the CBN Office.
Meeehhnn..!!
The crowd was humongous..

They told us to go back to our various banks
(For those that are paying BELOW a total sum of N500,000)
So, we all went back to our various banks.
And the crowds began building-up again inside the banks..

(I actually had more than N500,000 with me though, but I had to split the money with a friend of mine, who later transfered the money back to me)

Meeehhnn.!!!
I saw shegge today

👇🏼👇🏼👇🏻👇🏻
Meanwhile,
This process you described, it worked well Yesterday.
But the portal stopped working throughout today.
THE PORTAL BECAME HEAVILY OVERLOADED TODAY.

They had to tell us to go back to our various banks and do manual registration, without having to generate any codes through the CBN portal.
