After attempting to fast for 40 days and nights like Jesus Christ, a pastor in Mozambique passed away.

By the end of the 40-day fast, Francisco Barajah, the founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in the province of Manica’s center, was unable to stand, move, or take a bath.

On Wednesday, February 12, he unfortunately passed away at a hospital in the city of Beira.

According to local press, Barajah refused to drink or eat anything during the fast, which alarmed his friends and family.

One of the deceased’s neighbors claimed that he fell ill on the 25th day of his fast, and that on the 38th day, his illness got worse.

They had to step in and get Barajah to the hospital because of how badly his condition had gotten.

The priest, who also taught French, had severe anemia, damage to his internal organs, and was unable to digest meals.

According to reports, doctors unsuccessfully attempted to rehydrate and nourish his weak body with liquid foods. Sadly, he passed away in the hospital.
