Everything works best with the right timing. Nigeria is not yet ripe for cashless economy. Also the kind of business environment that we have in this country can only survive in a semi-cashless system. We have millions of illiterate and semi-literate traders in different open markets without bank accounts. How can you operate a cashless economy with such people dominating major village markets in the country. Automatically, these sets of individuals who are the bread winners of their families will be forced to close up their businesses. If you know the number of businesses that have been closed up since 25th of January, you will understand that there is problem.
