Nuptial Allegory of the State of the Nation(a Short Story)

Once upon a time in a faraway land
Lived an aged poor man
Whose suffering and misery was the object and of his neighbors laughter
But his comfort was the joy he got from the sight of his only daughter
Geria was her name
And as she turned 16 years old
In that culture she was of Marriageable age
Geria as a child was timid and frail
Her stoned dead expression and saddened face
Made fathers wonder and mothers wail

But as she became a youth her beauty protruded
And the young men complained that her walking seduced them

Hope was in sight for Geria
She had fallen in love
With a young promising man
Who would treat her like a dove
But there came another,
a tired old man
Who was older than her father
And always wore a frown
The old man contested that he will not rest until Geria is his
And he wouldn’t mind
To battle by fists
The fight was set and the war bells rang
For the old and the young blood to fight man to man
It lasted only an instant
The loved man had won against his older contestant
And Geria was hopeful of a blissful future close by and not distant

But her fathers greed came into question,
From the union with her lover he took his blessing
But to The old man who paid gold and silver
the poor man did not hesitate to give her

On her wedding day there was silence
On her final dance it was a shame
The injustice shall birth violence
And her fathers greed shall birth the same

But the lover is on guard
The young blood has a plan
What would be the result we may not understand
But soon the Daughter shall be returned to her Man
