Some people have a tough time mixing and balancing cultures, some dont. Some people outright rule it out for their own reasons. Some people are ignorant and wont associate and thats a shame.

For me not a problem cause i married mine and we dont see colors at all. Its a case of what floats your boat, or in my case i fell for who i fell for regardless, he could have been any race with thesame soul.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with being white and having a Yoruba name, was just surprised/curious. As for the black people with "white" names, they are usually baptismal names or adopted names in lieu of traditional names. Almost certainly, those individuals will have traditional names, you just have to ask them.

i think it's GREAT that you changed your name though. most people would be TOO AFRAID to take the plunge. (myself included) except, two years ago, events conspired and i wasnt the person i thought i was, or at least not the person i wanted to be. so i changed. as easy (& difficult) as that. and to go along w/ it i cut every strand of hair from my head! of course it's grown back. but i don't relax (you know what relaxers mean to black grrls right?) though i usually wear it in braids, now whenever i look at my natural hair, i can't help but at the new me ---->the ME i created!

well where i live in holland,the boys wo are in holand they are very hard to handle as for me they are hard

becos they are not like black guys who understand you,

So for me in England being white n English it must be different, I geuss white guyz might come across as serious but I like to think of that as reliable and steady as opposed to a negative however, I assume you are younger than I am (45) so our priorities are totally different, no offence though! At my age fun is not a priority
