The governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran also known as Jandor, has said that Igbo people in the state deserve respect and protection for their immense contribution to the development of the state.

Adediran, in company of his running mate, Funke Akindele and other PDP leaders, made the remark at a town hall meeting with an Igbo group, Ndigbo Na Lagos Bu Otu, in Surulere on Sunday.

“Everytime I have the opportunity to speak with our brothers and sisters of Igbo extraction in Lagos, I always remember to express our appreciation.

Appreciation of Lagosians of the first order who understand that all Igbo people in Lagos are one of those who have contributed immensely to our prosperity in the state of Lagos.

"Your investments in our major markets in Aspanda, Ladipo, Trade Fair, Alaba International Market and every Igbo dominated market contributes immensely to the status of Lagos of being the richest state in Nigeria today.

“It behoves every sensible owner of the Lagos to protect and respect those who have come to add to the prosperity but unfortunately what we have in Lagos today is not like that,” he said.

According to Adediran, if elected, he would not treat Igbos and other ethnic nationalities without respect but protect them and create an enabling environment for their businesses to thrive.

Igbos are very industrious people who spread prosperity and bring development everywhere they go…it’s not something to brag about, it’s who they are. Most educated and exposed Yoruba folks are well aware of this.

The percentage of those whose brains has been eaten deep by tribal bigotry don’t even make up to 10% of the entire Yoruba populace. They’re part of those who create bigoted threads everyday on Nairaland and other social media platforms, while some are doing owomida on the streets of Lagos.

Nope, Mr. Jandor or whatever he is called is wrong.. Igbos crossed river Niger into South West to benefit from the friendly commerce and economic environment created by Yorubas in Lagos.

All the markets he mentioned were doing well under Yorubas till the Igbos came, pushed them out and monopolized everywhere.. what can never happen in South East.

Things happen for a reason and I am sure the real Yorubas have learnt a lesson or two from the feb 25 elections.. same hate they gave Awolowo, Akintola, M.K.O Abiola, Olu Falae, Tinubu, Osinbajo and now Sanwo Olu is the same hate they will give you the Yoruba reading this.

Yoruba ronu!

Lagos state served as the capital of Nigeria from 1914-1991….for good 77 years, you don’t expect the level of development there to equate with that of other states. The Lagos Premiere Port complex at Apapa is the earliest and largest Port in Nigeria. The Port was established in 1913 and construction of the first four deep water berths commenced in 1921. This is what made Lagos the commercial center of Nigeria.

How many other states in Nigeria have operational or existing deep sea ports like Lagos? None. Not only Igbos, but all tribes troop into Lagos in their numbers on a daily basis because it’s the commercial center of the country. So what’s all the fuss about?

Most of you bigoted Yoruba urchins don’t deserve to use mobile phones or even access to internet service, because the distance between your brains and common sense is as long as third mainland bridge.

We can't continue with the false narattive that Igbos did this or that in Lagos.. Igbos aren't capable of development or anything and it shows in their shitty region where economy, IGR everything is zero. They look for fertile lands of other ethnicities to steal while they neglect their own lands cos of zero progress there.

That is how they keep running to Kano and other states to enjoy the goodies there while no ethnic group can go to East cos the region is dead and unproductive.

When indigenous Lagosians and Igbos speak of each other you see the love and mutual respect we have for each other but when the invaders speak of the Igbos, it's all hate and bigotry.

Onitsha is the largest market in west Africa

You can up all the markets in lagos together it still will not exceed Onitsha by size and trade volume

Awka, Agulu,Owerri, Nnewi,Enugu,Umahia the list goes on beautiful places

Oh you think Igbos don't develop their home land😂

Igbos are just in lagos to hustle and send back home to make mama proud

Your problem is you don't travel outside your brown roofed region

We accomodate Una we accomodate Una

Did you give them free house? Free land? Or free shops?🙁

Funny thing is , Igbos pay taxes more than you tribalist ranting in nairaland

Igbos owes no body you can't force them to do anything in Lagos

Before tinubu was born Ojukwu dad was already a billionaire in Lagos doing business.

As long as Nigeria is one Igbos are free to live and do their business anywhere wink smiley
