I don't know if this also happens in your house.

Whenever it's time to go back to school, my siblings would cry. Most especially my younger sister. A day or two days before I'm to go back, aunty will lose appetite and be extremely quiet. I'd catch her sobbing quietly. It would break my heart.

I would even be thinking of staying back😂

On the day I'm to travel, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Tears upandan.

Even my mum would become emotional.

Someone that sees when the whole family is escorting me to the junction will think I'm going away for thirty years.

My mum would walk beside me. Her wrapped tied loosely up to her bosom with a gown beneath. At intervals, she'd use the end of the wrapper to wipe her eyes.

She'd be telling me to be strong even though she's the one crying.

My siblings would trail behind. Chin down with a very sad expression. My sister won't even be able to look me in the eyes.

Finally, a vehicle would stop and I'd get in struggling with my bags with my dad closely behind me.

My mom and siblings would keep waving till the vehicle is out of sight while wiping the corner of their red eyes and sniffing.

I'd sigh and look at my dad sitting beside me.

'Dad, you know I'm a big girl. I know the way to the park'

He'd smile softly. His eyes lighting up and crinkling by the sides.

'I know but you're still my baby'

Knowing I wouldn't win the argument, I'd stare out the window.

The park is where the trouble begins.

My dad would walk around telling whoever cares to listen, his young daughter is already in the University, with a proud look on his face.

Then they would start shouting "wow wow" like siren while I stand there like a goat wishing the ground would open up and swallow me.

He'd take it far by going to meet the driver to take care of me, his precious child as I was going back to the University after the holiday.

Should I talk about the 2/47 calls from my parents?

'Where are you now?'

'Have you eaten?'

'Did you take your drug?'

'Are you comfortable?'

'Give someone the phone. I need to know where you are now'

"God will take you there safely'

'Tell the driver not to rush o. Make him drive safely'

'Una vehicle too de slow o'

'You never reach Ore?'

'Nawa o. Why una vehicle go spoil na?. Give driver phone make i ask am wetin happen. Una never reach anywhere the motor don spoil'

It might get to a point I'd have to put my phone on flight mode for a while.

There was a time I was going back to school and the vehicle spoilt at Benin. We had to lodge at a hotel there since it was very late at night.

My parents told me not to sleep at all but pray till the next morning. They said it's not safe as i don't know the place and anything could happen.

I didn't listen sha. The next morning i woke up to my whole body filled with bites from bedbugs.

My mum said it's because I didn't listen to her. If i was awake praying, it wouldn't have happened.

family 🥺, Back in My University days when I'm leaving for school Mum use to cry and it's not like we have a relationship where we display affection, we don't but when I leave she cries and and will be calling my line every minute sometimes I'll just have to tell her my battery is low and I have to turn it off when I reach a certain place I'll turn it on. When I was younger, if my sister Is going back to boarding school I feel like crying and will be pissed off and when she's coming back I feel happy. The funny part is between me and her it's fight and insult🤣 There was a day After watching A Jetli film I thought I could beat her because my friends where saying shit like boys are stronger than girls bla blah blah, ahhhhh!! One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life. She beat the crap out of me, the moment I threw my first kick and she held my legs in the air, I knew I was done and there's no going back. I received the toughest beating of my life that up till today no one has ever touched my body half as bad as she did and I usually get into fight but naahh this was a unique life changing moment for me. Anyways that happened and I still feel sad when she's living 😂

PS anytime she's about to fight anybody no matter how big that person is, I pity the person male or female 🤣🤣 she always triumph.

Thanks. I'm good but, I think they are more people who need it than me at the moment. Go to family section and just find someone in need.

If you're a female, there's nothing to worry about, whether you're an adult or not.

If you're a male and not an adult, you're still good.

But if you're an adult male...just know that it's your family that will choose a wife for you. And your wife is marrying you and your whole family.
That was on a lighter note.

Family love is great if not in excess as it could make you still dependent when you ought to be independent.

You write beautifully too.

Person like me who enter school at old age...all the younger ones are almost going to school. I want to school with only 4 shirts and the jeans trouser I was wearing the first day I resumed uni...and by the grace of God I left with 2 or 3 shirts while leaving the school after my graduation despite the fact that I had everything a typical big boy in uni would have
