Tom Sizemore, the late-'90s military drama "Saving Private Ryan" actor, has died of a brain aneurysm. He was 61.

Charles Lago, the actor's manager, revealed Sizemore died Friday "peacefully in his sleep" with his brother and twin kids by his side.

"It is with great grief and sorrow that I must announce the death of actor Thomas Edward Sizemore ('Tom Sizemore,'" Lago stated in a statement. "I am very grieved by the death of not only a customer, but also a long-time friend and mentor. Tom was one of the most genuine, kind, and kind people I had the pleasure of knowing."


Sizemore fell at his Los Angeles home on Feb. 19 as a result of a brain aneurysm caused by a stroke, and he was later taken to a hospital, according to Sources at the time.

"Tom is in intensive care owing to a brain aneurism," stated Lago in a statement. "He is presently in serious condition, and everything is on hold."



Sizemore's health has not improved since the aneurysm, according to a follow-up update on his status on Feb. 27, as he remained in a coma.

"Doctors notified (Sizemore's) family that there is no longer hope and have suggested (an) end-of-life choice," Lago said in a statement, adding that Sizemore was still critically ill. "The family is now making end-of-life decisions."

Lago went on to say: "We are requesting privacy for his family at this terrible time, and they would want to express their gratitude to everyone for the hundreds of words of support and prayers that have been received. It's been a trying period for them."
