OpenAI‘s GPT-3, released in November 2022, has revolutionized the field of natural language processing. It has enabled developers to create sophisticated language models for both text and speech applications, as well as to identify and generate natural language understanding capabilities. However, with the release of ChatGPT4 in March 2023, there is now a new challenger in the natural language processing field. In this blog, we’ll explore the differences between ChatGPT4 and GPT-3 and how they impact their respective capabilities.
ChatGPT4 is built to be conversational and able to understand, generate and interact with conversations. It utilizes both GPT-2 and GPT-3 technology, but is also designed with optimizations and improvements to GPT-3 to make it better at holding conversations. These enhancements include animproved inference engine, an enhanced middle-level component, and increased mesh and graph computing capacity. This results in ChatGPT4 being far superior to GPT-3 in terms of understanding, generating and interacting with conversations.
GPT-3, on the other hand, is more geared towards the generation of text from natural language prompts and is far from being conversation-ready. While it does include a few conversation-specific features such as coreference resolution and semantic parsing, these are not suitable for conversational applications. GPT-3 is more effective for tasks such as sentiment analysis, question answering, summarization, dialogue generation and natural language generation (NLG).
