Some things are inevitable. They progress naturally and an interruption only causes a delay and not a complete stoppage. Events tend to flow from one end to the other then repeat. Events such as birth and death, night and day, etc. Peace and war are one such phenomenon. The war of 1967 was merely postponed and not resolved. It breaks my heart to say that now we must fight it to finish and failing to do so in our time will be merely deferring it to the times of our children. With oppression and violence against the Igbos I say it is time. I condemn this in the strongest of terms. And I state unequivocally that there will be dire consequences. To all true Lagosians from the East:Concerning attacks on us by the Yorubas. The enemies of our common heritage want to dispossess us. They've spited and ridiculed us for far too long. This killing is one such action too many. Don't condone it, for if you do, you stand to lose everything including yourselves. Quit yourselves like men and defend your pride. If we must die, we'll die standing and gazing into the rising sun, not on our knees as some man's slave. This is an act of war. And this is a call to war. I have spoken! 1 Like 1 Share |
