I think I write for Nigerian students currently reading a course or the other, or even those that have graduated, that most of their lecturers are sitting comfortably on this group chat.

1. Tear a sheet of paper for this test
A Nigerian lecturer can just walk into his class and make such a statement even though he did not inform the students before that there was going to be a test. It is also typical of them to conduct a test when they notice there are no many students in class that day.

2. Grading students 69, or even 59, 49, 44 (=carryover)

I think Most Nigerian lecturers believe that students are undeserving of 70, or that students do not know enough to earn them an A. In sane climes, the 69 can easily be rounded off to 70 or 59 to 60. In saner climes, a lecturer need not believe that A belongs to his late mother in hellfire.

Azeemokoya your assertions are not totally correct. That you use few bag eggs to judge a few shows how you perceive things. Am sure if someone had said all Nigerian students cheat in an examination, you would have refuted such claims

Focusing on grading while relegating knowledge transfer to backgrounds.

I wish to say the entire system isn't just working in Nigeria complimented by how diabolic some lecturers behave.

Just imagine studying computer science in a university that has no computer lab and they set programming/coding as part of your exams questions. How then are you expected to graduate with good grades?

The system is, first class students in Nigeria are those who go out of norms to cram the hell out of any documents (handouts) that come their way just to pass an exam without understanding the main concept that will be useful to them after graduation.

Like in my school, the best programmer has the worst CGPA. Isn't that a rhetoric?
