My Funny Candidate Experience.

I recently was recruiting for the role of a Social Media Candidate, as usual, we do the normal screening and interviewing before profiling and sending it to the client.

But this particular candidate stood out (he would not keep his opinion to himself)

My conversation goes thus;

Me: Tell me about your Social Media Experience

Candidate: First before I tell you about myself, you have to tell me why the employee for the role left.

Me: I thought this should be the last question but went ahead to tell the candidate that the employee has moved on from the company.

Candidate: Why did he move on

Me: 🧐🧐🧐🧐 (the interviewer has become the interviewee)

Candidate: I want to know because I want to profer a solution so I need to know why he left so I can know which solution to give.

Me: How did you know you are the one the client will finally select, you have not even sold your skills, you want to proffer solutions to problems you don't know (shey you de whine me ni🙄🙄🙄)

Candidate: I don't think the employee did his job well, I have checked the page, and a lot of things Are wrong with it, the employee did not post frequently, and the employee did a terrible job but when you hire me I will ensure consistency in posting and create content for engagement.

Me: Errrrrmmmm Justice of the Federal Republic of Job hunting, who ask you all these one you are saying now.....

My dear candidates, sometimes it is your oversabi and saying what they did not ask you that is why you don't have a job yet.

Stop blaming your village People, it is your bad behavior and oversabiness🙄🙄🙄🙄 that keeps standing in the way of you getting a job

With similar character. The dude ended up interviewing us the interviewers (I and my manager)

He got the job ( manager convinced me to employ him. I didn’t want wahala ) and we needed someone urgently at the time.

But funny thing is dude went on to be one of the best staffs we ever had.

Great guy Ralph… even though his over sabi might have cost him getting the job initially!

waooo, Hmm. Some over do it, some under do it (if they is anything like that).
I think when I become an employer I might not be doing all these interview (if possible), come and work for some time, if you deliver, carry go.

I remember interviewing one guy while in Nigeria, dude was complimenting my dressing knowing fully well that I have big breasts and he kept staring at my cleavage.

He didn’t pass the first stage
