Enddystar: Deep Secrets about Claiming Asylum that Nobody Tells You About.
1. You’re gonna tell a lot of lies. Be ready.
2. You’re going to bring your children up to tell and perform these lies too.
3. Canada currently has a housing crisis. This means that the demand on the housing market is insufficient for the supply of people coming to Canada. Hence, shelter apartments are filled up. Some Asylum seekers are sleeping in tents outside the streets.
4. When you do seek asylum, you can not get a permanent resident through any other pathway until your asylum claims are verified.
5. This means that you’re ineligible for any other pathway. Even if you do study in Canada, or get married to a citizen you cannot apply for permanent residency through this pathway.
6. Asylum seeming can take several years to come through and at the end of it, you may still be deported back. Several people have been deported. I see links of people raising go-fund me accounts for these families just so that they can have a softer landing as they return home.
7. Even if your child is born here while you’re an asylum seeker, you and your child may be deported back because the child is still a minor and you the primary caregiver have no settlement here.
8. Seeking asylum means that the government would give you a work permit to look for a job. The government does not give you a job. But you have a permit that enables you to get a job.
9. This job does not qualify you for permanent residency because they’re not often skilled jobs. It’s just for you to feed, and take care of your children (if any). It’s after your claims have been verified, then you can work for some years and start your PR process.
10. Your claims can take several years to come through.
11. Once you claim asylum you can no longer return to the country you claim is pursuing you. The thing is that you’re claiming you’re being pursued or prosecuted and want to seek refugee in a new country. Some people find a way around to travel through Ghana or other neighbouring countries. Lots of time and money.
12. Looking through all of the provincial pathways for all of the ten provinces in Canada, asylum seekers are not eligible to apply for ALL of them. Check the comment section to see some screenshots from the Saskatchewan province.
13. If you do apply, your application will be denied. If in the unlikely event that your application is granted because an offer missed this information, your PR would be revoked.
14. Amidst the COVID pandemic, Canada extended permanent residency opportunities generously; like pure water, particularly to healthcare professionals facing overwhelming demands. While this was a rare event, some still seekers were fortunate to get PR during this exceptional period.
15. This pathway has worked for a few people. However, for one person it has worked for, there are over 1000 people it has failed.
16. Nigerians facing this problem are not being honest with their folks back home. Many of such people just tell their friends and family that they’ve gotten jobs. These naive people back home believe them and also want to come to Canada through this same route unaware of the untold hardship and expenses they’re going to spend.
17. Despite having a work permit, asylum seekers have the same first digit of their social insurance numbers starting with “9” same as anyone with a temporary permit. This tells any employer that your status is not completely settled.
18. There are loads of job restrictions that asylum seekers can not apply for and to.
19. Many employers would rarely employ an asylum seeker for a full-term permanent role because they know they’d always have immigration issues. Hence asylum seekers are left to fall back to casual jobs.
20. How do people claim asylum? They apply for visiting visas and then go to the border at different points in Canada to change their status from visiting to refugee seeking.
21. Once you do this; you’ve lost your visiting visa status and now you’re a seeker. You’re technically saying bye-bye to Nigeria; your family and friends (except you came with been), and welcoming you to a world of performance lies
22. Many immigration lawyers say that this is not a route they’d advise for their family members.
23. If you know anyone who has left their home country and hasn’t returned home in a long time. His mama died, e not fit to return. His papa died, e not fit to go home for burial. This person is not able to go home for important celebrations or activities, he’s probably an asylum seeker in the country where he resides.
24. It is worth the stress, the lies, the emotional and physical torture? The funds? This is NOT a route I advise. However, it’s a decision for you to make yourself. My job is to bring these realities to the fore. Thanks so much . This is quite enlightening |

verabeare: *RELOCATING TO CANADA*
One of my friends who relocated to Canada recently shared some lessons with me about his relocation and I thought I should share them.
Enjoy it
---
1. *Using Immigration Lawyers and Travel Agents Are Not Necessary:*
When I made a decision to relocate, I came across several immigration experts charging as much as $15,000 to help you through the process.
I didn't use them mainly because I didn't have the money.
So, I had to do it myself and it worked
Later on, I found out that many people who paid those experts ended up wasting their money.
With a little guidance, you too can apply yourself and save a lot
---
2. *Open a Separate Bank Account for This Project:*
I like taking the things I want to achieve as projects and relocating to a new country isn’t a small project.
One of the things I did when I made up my mind to relocate was to open a separate bank account with no ATM card.
I didn't have any rich uncle to help me.
So, I cut down on a lot of things and I started putting funds into the account for the project.
If you are like me, do this too.
It will help
---
3. *Prepare for IELTS*
Many people spend at least 24 months before they finally relocate because they have to write the IELTS exam twice
And that is because they didn't prepare for it the first time.
They think "it is just English"
If you want to relocate to Canada asap, you will need to get a good enough score
---
4. *Prepare for at least 6 months ahead:*
When you finally get to Canada, you will need some time to get used to the system, get a job, a house etc and settle down.
Depending on you, this could be within 3 - 6 months.
Just make sure you prepare for it.
---
5. *Acquire extra skills like plumbing, fixing electrical issues, how to change car oil and how to generally fix things around the house.*
Even though these services are cheap in Nigeria, you will be paying a lot of money to get them in Canada. By learning how to do them, you will be saving a lot of money.
Or even use it to get some change.
I hope you have gained something from this my short write-up
---
PS: There is a new immigration program recently introduced by the Canadian government.
This is the ONLY Canada relocation program that allows you to become a permanent Canadian resident even if you do not have a degree.
If you have any questions about relocation to Canada, feel free to DM me. I am just seeing this & it is very useful. I will like to get in touch with u when d coast is clear from my end. Thank u very much for dis eye opening piece 1 Like |

Good day everyone,
Please I need help in 2 area before starting this journey and I would really appreciate if you can help me through.
1) My dad and mum separated when I was at the age of 8, my dad relocated then with another woman to Canada then (now a Canadian) and while filling the family form, he used the woman as my biological mother. Although they are divorced now and he is married to another person. He specifically told me I need to use the woman as my birth mother but I'm really worried because of my real mother. Does that mean I won't include my real mom name in the form( my mum still bears my dad surname because she did not remarry) I'm really worried for my mother because she suffered on us, getting this information really broke my heart. Please is there any other way to go about it? Probably stating her as step mother or so. I don't want to complicate things for my dad too because I was told they would also visit his own application which will contradict mine if I declare my mum. I am really confused.
2)While my dad was also filling the form, he made a mistake in my date of birth, instead of 10/1993 he wrote 08/1994. He told me to go and change it Abuja because i already have a passport that it would be difficult for him to change it over there.(I have changed it)
Here is my question sir I applied for US visa last year which I was denied. I used the password of 1993 to apply and now I have changed it to 1994. Since US and Canada share data base I'm scared of what to say to the reason why my date of birth changed. What can I do in this situation sir.
Should I not declare my Dad in the application because this is really tough for me not to include my mom.
I hope you hear from you soon sir. Thank you 1 Like |
