An Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has appealed to the people of Ile Ife to allow peace to reign. The appeal followed an attack on Muslims inside Idi Omo Mosque, Ilare, Ile Ife yesterday, Thursday, 30th March, 2023 where four people were seriously injured following a curfew imposed by Oro traditional worshippers.

Why won’t he sue for peace in that axis and town when he knows that the Muslims there do not have the numerical, mental and political power and strength to face the Isese (traditionalist) people.

If it were to be in Ilorin or Osogbo where there are large numbers of Muslim, he would have called for revenge and reprisal in the name of jihad.

We can see how the Alfas and the jihadists have been terrorising and displacing the Osun worshippers in Ilorin, why didn’t he call for peaceful coexistence of the Osun worshippers and the Muslims there?

Funny fact about Ogbomoso is that the first Christian convert who happened to be an indigene was a babalawo and his entire family in the year 1870, less than 200 years after more than 60% of Ogbomoso indigenes are Christians despite the fact that Islam has older presence in the ancient town.

He is right about Ife being more of Christians especially Anglicans. They have learnt how to combine christianity with traditionally religion.

For example, I can't recall an Ooni of Ife In the last 120 years that is not Christian. They will proudly attend church service while donning their ogboni cult cloths on their shoulder. Similar to how Cubas and Brazilians have infused santerra into Catholicism.
