Thanks to Baba Obasanjo, a Yoruba elder statesman, standing up for an Igbo man. How many of his kinsmen are standing up for him. It is his "brother " that landed, Ike, his wife and another Igbo Dr in soup! angry

Don't get ahead of yourself.
Obj ridiculed himself with that letter.
Your statement is the reason why the former nation can't make any headway unless they return to status quo (pre-amalgamation)

In your words what you mean by unity, is standing up for your brother in crimes I guess

Lowest of the low.
Obasanjo has finally lost it.th

This is so unbecoming of a so called elder statesman.

Imagine interfering in a court case without being a party to the case or counsel on the case.

This is the height of self conceit.

Shame on you Mr obj.

You think say Baba Obj na your papa mate?
I pity your generation

Obasanjo just dey write upandan....the first two paragraphs were more about himself than Ekweremadu.

It must always be about him-self serving man.

Meanwhile, Ekweremadu’s act is criminal in the face of the UK law.

Even King Charles will find it hard to intervene

But las las they didn't collect the guy kidney na.

How can you describe people who wanted to steal another persons body part without duly informing him just to make sure their own daughter stays alive? What's God fearing here?

OBJ is just an old fool, b4 u say mark, he don start to write rubbish
If you want to plead for leniency, do that in peace without making other people look stupid by describing people who committed heinous crime as God's fearing

You are calling another man's father a big fool, did u even have elderly people in your family? Moreover, if the whole of your family combine together to achieve quarter of His achievement, I'm sure u wouldn't be here writing rubbish.

I pray that God continue to guide my baba. dMore blessings for you baba.

I respect your letter, and I respectfully disagree with your leniency proposal. The UK is mostly a law abiding society. They have a good law and order foundation. Ekweremadu is feeling bad because he got caught. By the way, his intent are abnormal, but he no get paperwork trail. let's say that boy sign paper and he is of age, when he gets to the UK and gets a cold feet, all that will happen is that the immigration will send him back, then the hospital and even some organizations, will try to give ekweremadu some more options.

Ekweremadu is a useless politician like many others from this sh*thole. Greedy, selfish, and could be very arrogant. No vision leaders.

who knows how he would have framed that boy if he were trying to do the procedure in Nigeria, and that boy got cold feet at the last minute. I don't know. But I wouldn't put it past him that, he would have used.the security services to really intimidate the gu and his family. I might be wrong in this assumptions, but I doubt that am far off.

Doesn't still change the fact that if our leaders, Obasanjo and Ekweremadu included, along with the bunch of clueless mofos we have currently past and present, BUILT/BUILD world class facilities and hospitals in a system where every process has a legal backing and accountability for every action.

Unfortunately, UK is not Nigeria where the law is practically abused effortlessly.

Obasanjo initiated the policy of Federal Medical Centers (FMC) to compliment states without teaching hospitals. He behold about 26 of them between 1999 and 2007. Primary Health Care (PHC) in the ward levels are his ideas.

Continuity of good projects are what we lack in this country.

Before you blame this Ekweremadu, I’m not saying he did right but the truth is that many people are worse when faced with pressure.
Before you question people’s moral ground, would you do same when faced with same pressure?

Are you okay?

He knows what he is writing. The U.K laws respects ex-service men and accord them special place in thier constitution, so Obasanjo needed to introduce himself more to draw compassion from the U.K authorities to his request. Go back to school bro

You know nothing! His international personality may sway things in favor of Ekwerenmadu! Obasanjo is 2 time president of Nigeria. It's very important the recipients of the letter know the personality of the sender.

This is highly commendable of former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR.

He has shown himself to be a man of compassion, Nationalist and a true ditrabilised leader.
Something some Nigerian leaders can not be.

I perceive baba wants to rewrite the wrongs of the past, set new templates of doing things a better way in Nigeria so that when he leaves the stage he will leave with his head held up high and in glory.

This is how you know a true elder stateman hold is responds to issues with truth and compassion.

That letter is so on point...the British should temper justice with mercy.
Mr&Mrs Ekwerenmadu are high ranking Nigerian public official and senator...and a parents who fell for this crime accusations because they wanted to save their child.

But in all, those powers behind his ordeals and the boy used in question should prepare for "what goes around that will come around"...if complesit.

What sort of comment is this? If Nigeria's name is at ridicule here, who is at fault?? Is it Nigerians or Ike Ekweremadu?? And how exactly are Nigeirans doing him? Did we send him? Did we report him? Did we convict him? What have law-abiding Nigerians done except to have our collective reputation again insulted by another lawless man who thinks expediency trumps decency? Please be mindful of what you say!

No matter how illegal Ekweremadu's act was, as a parent I know I will do same or more for the life of my daughter. That's why anytime I read about this Ekweremadu's case I feel nothing but pity for him and his family no matter how politically divergent I am from him.

I see nothing wrong with what OBJ did.
He never pleaded for his release or to upturn the judgement. What he was requesting from the UK government is to temper justice with mercy.
Thank God he has never accomplished his mission by harvesting the guy's organ.
Also, Ekweremadu and his wife have been in prison for some months now and they must have learnt some lessons.
Prison is different from a hotel or vacation.
Remember nobody is a saint including the whites, they also have their flaws, bigger flaws.
I wish Baba's request is granted even if it is going to be for the sake of the sick lady.🙏
