I have attended several services posted online here by @chieveboy. I have not done a thorough deep dive yet. But on first glance, it is not really clear on where you stand concerning some of the issues I mentioned.

Eckankar does not control people. They are given the freedom to do as they please in terms of sex, marriage, lifestyle and any other life endeavor.

Eckankar teaches you that you have every right to do what you want, but then you must take total responsibility for your action s. After all, we are always held accountable by life wether or not we know it.

Your response seemed like you were trying to defend yourself when it was just a simple conversation. Besides, I mentioned you because I have seen your invitation threads before and attended several services through them.

I get this. That antecedence (of you following the Sunday Service) would expect that you won't for a minute assume from your earlier angle that I was being belligerent.

I merely was explaining what Eckankar does based on your questions about the subject, considering that giving rules about what members eat, marry, etc equals to controlling them.

If the tone seem harsh and defensive, I believe that would not be from the semantics or grammar, so kindly pardon that please.

Perception is key. Angle of perception changes things.

If one wishes to follow Eckankar for investigative, pleasure, informative or any other reason, that is always welcome. This is what I was trying to tell you. There is no controlling of people.

Infact there are some that in this life time are only destined to window-shop religions. They would in time settle for one. This is all part of life and is necessary and important to window-shop, we have millions of life times to try things out.

Experience remains the best teacher and the Supreme Deity knows that too well, hence the putting of us in this simulative atmosphere.


I also explained that even if one does not know that life demands responsibility for actions, they will always reap it anyways. In case you are wondering why I stated that, it is why Eckankar does not control what people eat, drink or how they should think or dress. It's one's life and their lessons.


The person marrying ten wives would only have to deal with feeding many mouths and other circumstances surrounding that. During this or in the next life, the person will learn first-hand the law of economy.

If he was controlled into not marrying several wives, he may never learn the law of economy encased in the freedom to marry wives. Denying someone a vital experience to learn is a flouting of spiritual law. You can further see why...and also why we are here.


If anything, this is what I meant by "Eckankar teaches you that..." .
